Well illustrated, comprehensive and informative book on Klimt's landscapes.
I was delighted with this book. Although I already owned a hefty volume on Klimt that includes many of his landscapes the reproductions were poor and there wasn't much information so I wanted something better. This book not only documents exhaustively and reproduces excellently all Klimt's landscapes, with many detail enlargements, but also gives far more information about his life and working methods than I expected. There are lots of contemporary photos of Klimt and his circle and many small illustrations of people, places and other paintings that really give a fascinating picture of the places he painted and the time he lived in. The only downside is that some of the more high-faluting pieces of critical analysis are not translated into an easily readable form. ( I skipped a lot of them. )However this minor flaw was completely outweighed by the comprehensive amount of information in this book and the excellence of the illustrations. It is far better produced - well bound with good, heavy paper- than one expects for such a reasonable price too.If you want to know more about Klimt's landscapes this is definitely the book to get. Recommended.

Wonderful pictures - the other side of Klimt
Took longer than the stated delivery date, does it really take 10 days for the post to deliver in UK ?. Quality and content of the book excellent, all printed on good quality paper. If you want an in-depth study of what Klimt, the man, did for recreation and escape from the city, this is it. There is so much in here it may take a twelve month to digest it all. Wonderful pictures - art history at he turn of the last century when artists painted what they saw and not 'concepts'.- this man really was an artist

Superbly illustrated
Covers an aspect of Klimt's work not widely known. Not the easiest read - having been translated - but the illustrations are fabulous so worth ploughing through the text.

Gustav Klimt's Landscapes
Just received this book by Stephan Koja. It took a month to arrive but well worth the wait. This is a lovely book, full of very "informative" information if that makes sense, easy to read and absorb and not weighted down with a load of arty speak. It has great illustrations, including close ups for those of us who want to see how it was done.

very inspiring
not so much known for his landscapes- but this collection of images is a revelation. a well produced book with plenty of colour illustrations. Quite abstract landscapes, unusual compositions, well worth a look. Informative text too.
