Exceptional
Great product from Canon. I took a while to decide on what to replace my old printer with. It was a balance between printing documents (main use) and photos. This printer handles both superbly. Was also having to make a decision on scanner/copier/printer or like this, just a straight printer. Decided to go down the printer route as the canon app has a scan via photo function and less to go wrong. The canon app scanner does a good enough job but other apps like GeniusScanner are better for overall control of lighting etc so scanner not missed. In all good speed, quailing and low noiseThe big plus though is the HUGE XL ink tanks, Canon declare that the black is good for over 1000 pages and I can believe it as they are bigger than a pack of cards. I also brought some non canon comparable inks to try at less than a 1/4 the price of the originals and the printer handles these with no issue and no noticeable quality impactAll in all a great cost effective all round printer for home or small office use.I would defiantly recommend

Very good, reliable printer I have running off an old 2013 iMac.
Positives:Surprisingly compact.Looks professionalEfficient with its' ink. (I didn't test third party inks or refills. Refer to the manufacturers on that one).Easy to set upPrint quality for a small office ink jet in the price range was excellent. For big documents it's pretty quick for the price. Two paper trays means you can focus on customers or working while stuff prints.Software installation was almost trouble free.Down sides:It's a bit too big for a student desktop printer. The serial number is in a location that is hard to get to, let alone see. Take a photograph when you unbox particularly if you're putting the printer against a wall.

The printing is fine - good quality
I had a Canon Pixma before which served me well for years. So I turned to Canon for another wireless printer. It took some time to set up and I had to phone Canon support to do so. The printing is fine - good quality. But replacing a cartridge has resulted in an utter meltdown. I put a cartridge in, it has failed to recognise it and is coming up with an Error Code 504. I subsequently phoned Canon support which is a joke - I held for two hours at the weekend with no result at all (did not get through), and then when I did get through on Monday morning (after another hour wait) I was told that I have to send it away. Fine, but the number they gave me told me that they did not repair this model so gave me another number, which doesn't repair this model. Meanwhile this is my office printer for my home business and I am unable to print. It also looks like this problem may have to have a repair which I pay for, as unless I used the Canon ink cartridges rather than compatible models no warranty is guaranteed so after 4 months usage effectively I may have to pay the same again to get my printer to change the cartridge and start working again.Apparently this is a common problem with this printer. DON'T BUY IT.And Canon support is unbelievably bad. This used to be a great company, I don't know what has happened to them. Time to find another product.

Difficult to lern to operate
Take a lot of getting use to, lots of settings are not done by printer software which I prefer.. Manual could be better.
