The sky's the limit for high-flying action with the popular WWII military series, Black Sheep Squadron (Baa Baa Black Sheep). Ride along with the heroic "Black Sheep Squadron," a group of misfit Marine fighter pilots. Robert Conrad stars as the unconventional squadron leader, Major Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, with Simon Oakland, Dana Elcar, John Larroquette, James Whitmore Jr., Dirk Blocker, W.K. Stratton and Robert Ginty as the pilots known as the "Terrors of the South Pacific." This thrilling collection is fully loaded with all Season One episodes, plus the original two-hour pilot, of the war series where men were men, and the South Pacific was the place for unlimited adventure!Bonus Content:Disc 2 - Baa Baa Black Sheep Season One: From the NBC News Archives: Interviews with Major Gregory Boyington Review: good - great show Review: Great Product. - This was a great war drama show from the '70's. I saw it on one of those channels that carries old TV series. Hadn't noticed it on anywhere since originally air. I never really saw it back in the day except for bits and pieces of episodes, but after I discovered it this past spring and kept watching, I had to have it. It has a great cast with Robert Conrad as the lead. Also, a very young Dan Larroquette and many other recognizable faces who became big stars. Larry Manetti, Dana Elcar, James Whitmore Jr., Dirk Blocker and the list goes on. Many other recognizable faces who were already well-known. Sadly, it was only on 2 seasons on NBC. This is the only full season, as the 2nd was about a half a season. Nice that it came back for some episodes. Came in perfect condition and at a great price. Thanks!

Great TV History show
Baa Baa Blacksheep only had 2 seasons. The DVD quality is amazing. If you like history based TV shows then this one is a hit. I enjoyed seeing the fighter planes in action and the real war time video sometimes included in the dogfight sequences.

A teenage favorite of mine
I actually read Major Boyington's book on his military career with the Flying Tiger's and the VMF-214 as a teenager. The show was a favorite for me, not for it's accuracy, as Hollywood takes great licence's in punching up the program for rating's. Just two season's so I guess the ratings weren't that great. However, they did get a lot of the details of the military hardware right. The show is definitely worth having, even 35 years later. "Baa Baa Black Sheep" (also known as "Black Sheep Squadron") was a WW2 period military television series. Robert Conrad was perfect in the role of Major Greg 'Pappy' Boyington. Simon Oakland was perfect in the role of Brigadier General Thomas Moore. Dana Elcar was perfect in the role of Colonel Thomas A. Lard James Whitmore, Jr. was perfect in the role of Captain James 'Jim' Gutterman. Dirk Blocker was perfect in the role of 1st Lieutenant Jerome 'Jerry' Bragg. W.K. Stratton was perfect in the role of 2nd Lieutenant Lawrence 'Larry' Casey. Robert Ginty was perfect in the role of 1st Lieutenant Thomas Joseph 'T.J.' Wiley. Joey Aresco was perfect in the role of Sergeant John David 'Hutch' Hutchinson. John Larroquette was perfect in the role of 2nd Lieutenant Robert 'Bob' Anderson. Larry Manetti was perfect in the role of 1st Lieutenant Robert 'Bobby' Boyle. Jeff MacKay was perfect in the role of 1st Lieutenant Donald 'Don' French. Red West was perfect in the role of Sergeant Andrew 'Andy' Micklin. The first season of "Baa Baa Black Sheep" originally aired on NBC from September 21, 1976 until March 22, 1977

Escape into the Pacific Theater
This was a favorite of mine when I was a teenager. The quality of the sound and picture was better than when I watched it on a grainy TV that pulled in the signal with rabbit ears. If you are a stickler for historical accuracy, let this series go by. This is Boyington's version and even he had some reservations of what Hollywood did to his story. You have to be in the mood to suspend reality to enjoy this series. As escapism it is a fun lark into a land where desperate struggles to defeat a determined enemy are always resolved by a fitting conclusion. What M.A.S.H. was to Korea this show is to the Pacific Theater. It's entertainment, not a documentary.
