Surprisingly good trilogy
I am a huge fan of the skullduggery pleasant books and didn't think I would enjoy the new story by Mr landy as much purely on principle...I was wrong. It took a little reading on the first book but soon I felt the familiar hooks sinking into me. The humour is still there as well as the great characters. The twists in this book are great and there are some genuine laugh out loud moments too. There is more I would like to write but I don't believe in spoilers. Read the first two books and this will definitely not disappoint...you will also know the parts I'm busting to say by the time you finish reading. Enjoy.

2.5 / 5... what happened?
I've been reading Landys books for nearly a decade now and this is the only one I have been disappointed in. I just feel like like Derek heard about some of the sillier side of the internet today (primarily tumblr, fanfiction and how young girls can behave on these websites) and thought that would be good enough to revolve a lot of the book around. The good side, its delightful inappropriate for the age range as the previous two books have been with the murder and mayhem even if its not as creative as it has been in the past. There are some good laughs here and there and we get a closer look at hell which is always an unsettlingly interesting location. What was bad? The blatant referencing to pop culture (which although can be seen in the rest of his books its nothing as shameful as having a Gremlin singing the Rocky theme tune as we see in the opening chapter). Then there is the introduction of plot changing elements not mentioned until this book and what I'd consider poor use of characters that have had a lot of care and attention put into their creation.I dont know. Maybe Landy got bored by the end of book 2 and wanted to finish this up quickly. If you are looking at book 3 you've probably read the other two and will want to read this regardless... maybe wait for the paperback.

Excellent - but for older kids
My 12 year old loves these books but be warned they are scarier than I'd realised. I bought the first one from Tesco's from the teen section - she loved it (and enjoyed telling me lots of gruesome tales from it - I nearly took it off her lol) so I've bought her the next two for Christmas 🎄 I suppose the story is (for 90's generation mum's who can relate) a bit Buffy the Vampire Slayer-ish? Great for their imaginations but not for the feint hearted - at least she's reading!?!?! 📖

Good enough trilogy
A fitting end story to an adventurous and gory trilogy. This final instalment wrapped things up nicely, even though there were upsetting character deaths. Just have to accept such things. Even though it truly sucks when good “people” die.

A book you've got to read!
Loved reading this trilogy and had to preorder the paperback of the last in the set. Landy definitely knows how to generate suspense - was on the edge of my seat reading all three. Upset me with the last little piece of the story, wasn't expecting that to happen...Enjoyable to read, and easy storyline to follow - not a fast reader, but managed to finish a book a day.

It's a hell of a trilogy!
Very different reading from Mr Landy's skulduggery series. but i enjoyed this book (one of three) a lot more. It's a bit more grown up and excellent story. You can't leave it there though Mr Landy so i hope the next book is in the making!

Bloomin' Brilliant
Fantastic end to a brilliant road trip.Derek Landy has once again created characters that you want to invest in.He puts the good guys in situations that have your heart pounding, praying that they will survive, you hate him when they don't and love him when they do.Top banana.
