16Pcs Carbide Inserts

I use traditional lathe tools. My wife has shown an interest in turning a few small pieces like pens. These carbide tools are much more forgiving for a beginner IMO. This set really does all the basic functions. You can spindle turn with the round cutter and flatten easily with the square. The pointed detail diamond shaped cutter can also be used to part. You can also use them for cross grain bowl turning on small projects. The curved hollowing tool’s cutter head is too small IMO. They should have used the same size circle cutter as the main tool. All of the parts go together easily and lock in place. They feel solid for mini or midi lathe work. The other benefit of carbide is you don’t have to sharpen them. This can be really slow down a beginner without access to a bench grinder and the experience to sharpen their tools. I caught the large set on sale for the same price as the basic kit. I am very pleased with the value for the money spent.

I usually dont leave reviews,But I must say I'm impressed !! Tools came in a really nice aluminum case packed well ,the tools seem to be well made and WHAT a difference cutting with carbide !! Over all I'd give 7 stars ,Very happy with the entire package .Well worth the $$$ !!!!!!!!

Decent set of lathe tools. Have used these on some very dense wood to turn small bowls. They work well. Carbide cutters are a plus - eliminates re-sharpening. Sufficient for the home hobbyist.

Very nice set just wish could order extra handle so don’t have to stop and change but did not see a way to contact seller to ask

I have turned 26 hardwood mushrooms and the first blade is still sharp. The hardwoods were yellow birch, white birch, cherry, and black walnut! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this Company, an$ their blades. I also bought the turning tool kit, great kit!

New to turning. This set is easy to use and interchange bits. Bits are sharp and reduces your turning time. Good purchase.

Inexpensive and works well for the wood turning I do.
