Better than advertised.
Style is pretty close to the older Blue Mountain vest I still have. Color is for summer, and LOTS of pockets inside and out. Excellent construction. Flag patch is velco to be able to change to your favorite patch. Only 'flaw', if you can call it that, is the concealed pockets are held together with velcro, and not snaps. The area is small, but that can be remedied with a larger pad of velcro. Fit is excellent. You won't be disappointed.

Well worth Buying!
Well put together and appears durable. Lots of useful pockets and the concealed carry compartment inside the vest is "Awesome" and fits a large size pistol easily. Much Better than expected! Also, the Flag on the front pocket is Velcroed on, not sewn on like described. Very Happy with this purchase. I can wear this vest and conceal carry without a holster in my pants.

Very Please with the Quality and Value - IDPA Ready
After reading the reviews, I was mildly concerned that the product I received might have issues. Now that I look at and wear it, I see none at all. The material is comfortable to wear. I wear a 3x or 4x depending on the cut of clothing so I went for a 4x. It fits well and may be a tiny bit generous but not too large at all. It does a very good job of concealing things that need to be concealed without limiting access. It will be great for IDPA and good for around town. Plenty of room in the pockets and doesn't look too militant. At almost half the price of the competition, this is a very good value for a big guy.

best vest for the money
I have bought both 511 and Rothco vests and decided to try the HQ Issue. My decision was based on price, appearance and utility. The cost is less than the 511 and Rothco vest with the same or similar design/intent. The biggest issue was the number of useless pockets and compartments on the other vests. I work in a gun store and shooting range and wear my vest every day. And I wear it both when I'm working and when I'm not. I have no need for AR magazine pockets that are only for magazines but nothing else. Some of the two have pockets that can only be reached from inside the vest and some have large pockets that are accessed from the back of the vest. These were pretty much useless. They could be used for EMT equipment, manuals, clothes but these vests are simply not practical for every day use. The carry pockets are okay but I carry on my belt and don't need them. If I had a small backup weapon it they might be useful. The 511 and Rothco vests seem to put pockets with zippers everywhere. And most are totally impractical. It's like a contest to see who can include the most pockets. Well this HQ Issue does not attempt to do that. I don't use all the pockets but so what. The cost is less, the fit is, in my opinion, better. I have had no issues with quality so far. I've worn it everyday for two months and it still looks good. No problems with zippers or other closures. Although I would like a more secure closure on the left side breast pocket because it's where I carry my Iphone 11 (big) but I'm working on that. Overall, it's a good vest for the money, Less than the two I mentioned and much more practical. It works for me. And this vest does have inside magazine holders that are functional and work. Although I have laid the vest down and a magazine or two have fallen out. But if the vest is hung up like it should be that would not be a problem. And yes there are pockets on this vest I do not use but not near as many as the others. Final grade: good quality (so far), good functionality, good price, comfortable and it covers my 1911 carry pistol on an OWB Tagua holster.

Fits great and has good concealed carry features
The concealment on this is very good. My EDC is a Sig Sauer P365 with the extended pinky mag, so it's not a big gun, but this does hide it well. I like all the pockets for carrying other stuff. I also like that it has convenient storage for extra magazines for both left-handed and right-handed people. The storage for the firearm is also ambidextrous. It has a quality, durable feel and build and it isn't overwhelmingly hot to wear. I generally wear body armor under it, so usually I'm pretty layered up, and reducing heat is an issue, especially the summer. I really prefer the access of a hip holster but I don't want to open carry and I'm too fat (5-11 and 205) to comfortably carry inside the waist. This works for me. I have the XL which I initially thought felt a bit big, but it's comfy. 100% would buy it again.

Pain in the neck
Good quality vest. Sucks on the wear. The collar across the back of the neck hurts after wearing an hour or longer

Surprisingly Useful and Comfortable
This vest is better than I expected. It is comfortable. It's FULL of pockets of various sizes. Some hook-and-loop, some zippered. Two interior pockets each with elastic bands for concealed carry, and a Sig P250 fits perfectly. Those pockets have hook-and-loop closures, which keep it in but are easy to open. And though those pockets on either side are made for concealed carry, they are not exclusively holsters. Anything else could go into them, and they are very deep and secure. Pockets inside for six extra 9mm mags, but I think anything larger will be difficult. Canvas material. I really like it. As I said, my micro 9mm fits perfectly, BUT I don't know about something larger. I can say that a large frame revolver does NOT fit well, and would stick out too much. I think this will work well in spring through autumn. It is not lined so is not a winter vest, though it is a bit heavy.
