Good educational tool
As a mom this is a great learning tool. My 4 yo cannot lose the letters since it’s attached as a spiral. This also folds down flat for easy storage and to take on the go. The words for each picture item are at the bottom of the base. I’m sure this is so they can spell the word by just looking at the picture but honestly I had to check and see what they were trying to get them to spell. See random photos of the pictures. There’s a “mole” I honestly was trying to figure what it was they were trying to get my kiddo to spell. The nose is red so I thought nose but then saw an actual nose on another card then found it was mole. A map with an arrow on the X mark is actually for the word “here”. A bowl of “rice” and kids at play should be a “game”. Then a music notes image is actually for “Tune” not note or notes. Then you see a “note” pad that spelled read with a pencil so thought at first he should spell read but that wasn’t right either. . . . This problem may just be me; but I honestly think it would have been more convenient to have the word that matches the picture on the actual picture card. Especially since the cards are not in the order the words are listed at the bottom of this anyways. To make it easier for my kiddo I may just take a permanent marker to it and save us both some time. Overall still a great tool to use.

light weight base
This is difficult to use, just because it is too light weight. When trying to turn the cards, the whole thin tends to tip, so it has to be held in one hand while moving the cards. The idea is great, but the reality is not convenient. It does show the the first job of the silent e well, and that is something, but there are easier ways to do it.

Color coding helps
My 5 year old is really getting interested in writing and spelling and this is a great tool to help with that magic e. I had been explaining it to her, off the cuff, when our playing included writing and reading things, but when I popped this in front of her, with the color coded consonants vs vowels, and she could see how the magic e changes pronunciation, I could see that flicker of comprehension occur. These are also nice to have propped up so she can see words she may want to write down. The quality is pretty good for our use, I explained to her how & why to turn the cards mindfully, and she has no problems with that, so I don’t anticipate this becoming damaged. These are great to add to our arsenal of homeschooling supplies and help keep learning fun. I would purchase these again.

Not durable
The cards fall off the binding, making the tutorial unusable. Not worth buying.

Huge Hit for Silent E's
This set was a HUGE hit in my classroom. We started working on “silent e” words, and my kindergarteners loved helping me find the right letters. The pictures are appealing, and I am very thankful for the guide on the bottom (sometimes it is difficult to know what the picture is supposed to represent, so I don’t have to worry about finding a missing cheat sheet). The size is excellent to have at my teacher table for students to use, but also large enough for the whole class to see at carpet. My reason for 4 stars is because the binding holding the letters on is already twisting a little, so I cannot let my students use it independently because it is too easy to bend. I would still absolutely recommend it for any classroom working on silent e words.

Fun and instructional
This spiral-bound flash card set is fun for teaching and learning about “Silent E”. Young readers will enjoy flipping the letters to form new words using long vowels and silent “e”. Children also enjoy forming many nonsense words formed by flipping the cards. The flash card set stands upright in a “tent” form, forming a secure base for flipping the cards. When done making words, the flash card set collapses flat for easy storage in a backpack or bag. All pieces are attached so no pieces to lose or cards to pick up. This spiral-bound flash card set is a great gift for a kindergarten or 1st grade student.

Perfect for small group!
These is perfect for small group! The letters are small so students would need to be in range of the flip book! It has pictures to go with the generated words already and you can create nonsense words as needed to assess. The magic e is a great lesson with visuals to show the different of the short vowel sound without the e and then the lone vowel sound with the magic e. Overall nice quality, I will be handling this, not the kids.
