This metal trigger, more than a repair, a necessary upgrade for dyson vacuum cleaners
Great product, I could bring back my expensive vacuum cleaner to proper operation. The dissassembly is a little tricky but very doable with the proper tools: a large and slender T8 torx driver and a PH1 long slender phillips driver to be able to reach deep pocketed screws. Dyson seriously dropped the ball by using cheap plastic for the trigger and the whole vacuum cleaner in general. The trigger WILL bend and fail over time, so if you have a vacuum cleaner of these models my advice is to have this part stored for when is needed or to replace the trigger even if it hasnt failed yet because it will at some point tools required: Tork screwdriver: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XIYTONY?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 Phillips screwdriver: https://www.amazon.com/Phillips-Screwdriver-SKZIRI-Magnetic-Screwdrivers/dp/B0DFY5Z358/ref=sr_1_23?th=1

Excellent replacement switch - installation is tricky but doable
Excellent!! So crazy that Dyson designs such a terrible switch for multi-hundred-dollar vacuums, but this replacement solves it! The replacement switch works perfectly, and does not bind as other reviewers had found. I did not have to modify the holes of the switch for the pivot points at all. Taking the vacuum apart is a significant undertaking. Watch the video and work slowly, step-by-step, and you should have no problem. A few points of advice: -have at least a 5” T8 Torx screwdriver. The first one I tried was just a bit too short to reach a troublesome screw. (For one, you have to come in at an angle and it must be long enough to avoid contacting the case. - unless I’m missing something, you MUST spread/bend the new switch just enough to get it over the posts. I used a retainer clip tool to gently expand near the base of the new switch, only just enough to get it over the two posts. Then, I gently squeezed to snug it back up. Check the switch at this point, before reassembling, to ensure it is securely on the posts and moves freely. For this step, the video was useless. They just show the switch magically jump right onto the vacuum assembly!!

Saved the day
Was so relieved to find a replacement part for the vacuum, they aren’t cheap. Was happy to have the option to replace the plastic factory trigger with a metal one. I watched a YouTube video on replacing it, and no issues. Easily replaced, functions as it should, and should never have to be replaced again.

perfect replacement for my V11
This was the perfect replacement for my Dyson V11. I love that it is metal instead of the original plastic one. It is a little time consuming to replace since you literally have to take almost the entire dyson apart to install. But it is well worth the effort and cost effecient.

Way more durable than original and fits perfectly
Replaced my broken plastic trigger on my Dyson V10 Animal vacuum. Product fit perfectly and works perfectly as well. Installation is a bit of a project but worth it (not the fault of the trigger). Much happier knowing this metal trigger won’t break again like the plastic models and I won’t have to go through the replacement process ever again.

Better than the original. Check other reviews for install tips
For what it is, the replacement trigger works fine aside for being a bit too hair-trigger like. When installing I did need to pry it apart a bit when sliding it onto the posts. I just used two flatheads slightly angled to let the trigger catch onto the posts. Probably the hair feel may be adjusted by turning the t8 in the handle a bit or slightly sanding off the pin. As other commenters are saying, you must have a long (>4.5in) torx t8 screwdriver, ideally fixed one. The lone t8 in the handle is pretty hard to get to. Make sure to use quality philips head and torx and get yourself some needle nose pliers to route the power cables through the PCB mounting hold. Also get something to fish the cables with (zip tie will do). Last but not least, set aside a couple of hours and a few quarts of patience to do the install properly. Some gaskets and cables are PITA to reassemble.

Works but challenging installation
I am a professional mechanic and I can tell you that this is a complicated install. Taking things apart carefully and on snapping them without breakage is a challenge. The screws are similar but different so know where they come out of. Fishing the wires through was a tedious challenge. I recommend you have special pliers that expand when squeezed they are normally used for snap rings and things like that. You need that to spread the new triggers metal sides out to fit over the hinge pins. But in the end it works and hopefully you’re stronger than the original plastic

Works Very Well!
Trigger works exactly as it is described. It feels quite robust and fitted well in my Dyson V10. The problem is not this product, it is Dyson! A pricey vacuum cleaner with a cheap trigger designed to break, seemingly always in exactly the same place in these hyped up products. To get to it, the whole thing needs to be disassembled with an abundance of screws, flimsy wirings, connections and circuit borads in the way. It was even more difficult to put it back together, navigating back through the same pitfalls. At every step my confidence that it would work again took a massive hit. This is designed to frustrate so you give up to either buy another one or send it for expensive repair. By hook or by crook, I managed to put it together and it works. The new metal trigger feels good and is smooth. Great solution to a poor Dyson part.

Only difficulty in fitting was that the metal trigger is stiffer and harder to manouver into place once you finally get the Dyson dissembled. But with a bit of perseverance you will succeed. The metal replacement trigger works perfectly and will not break like the original cheap plastic one.

Identique à l'origine. Le + c'est qu'il est en métal. Facile à installer . A ouvrir très légèrement pour ne pas le casser.

I love my Dyson V11 for its suction power and cleaning performance, but let’s be honest—Dyson really cheaped out on the trigger design. For a vacuum that costs this much, the fact that they used a flimsy plastic trigger that cracks and breaks with normal use is disappointing. Mine snapped after regular daily cleaning, and I was not about to spend a fortune on another weak plastic replacement. This upgraded metal trigger switch is the fix Dyson should have built in from the start. Installation was straightforward, and the trigger feels solid, smooth, and durable—no more feeling like it’s going to break every time I press it. It has the same responsiveness as the original, just without the worry. If your Dyson V11 is out of commission because of a broken trigger, skip the plastic replacements and get this. It’s a simple upgrade that actually makes the vacuum feel like it matches its premium price tag.
