Excellent book for anyone with an interest in healthcare, particularly those with an interest in mental health as to say some of the side effects of drugs today such as antidepressants, atypical antipsychotics and others used in an attempt to control anxiety, relieve depression and stabilise a persons mood can be extremely harmful to a persons mental and physical health could quite possibly be the understatement of the last half century. This book would be a fantastic tool for anyone wishing to improve the lives, and potentially save the lives, of so many people affected by mental health problems in this modern age. I believe there is far too much reliance on medication and this book is the best tool available to prove that the benefits of any medication can very easily be outweighed by the negative and potentially fatal outcomes that can and sadly do occur. I can't recommend it enough. It's saved my life and it could save yours , your friends or your family members also.

An authoriative book on all drugs currently in use in UK. Probably you would need to have some medical knowledge to understand the technical explanations give as to how drugs work phsiologically, nevertheless it does give crucial information regarding doseages side effects and other essential data for the reader. Used by doctors and nurses when the occasion arises. There are very good substitutes for this type of book BMA Medicines and Drugs aimed at the man in the street, for example. Much easier to understand and a lot cheaper too.

This edition is outdated, but good for a student to have for reference

Use this frequently for my medical school studies. It is very useful, the index at the back is handy.It clearly and concisely provides all the required information about nearly every drug used by the NHS. Shame it doesn't come with an app.
