This has the square plastic FAKRA connector for older receivers.
I have an older model (2004) Kenwood Sirius receiver that plugs into a Kenwood AM/FM car radio and it requires a Sirius antenna with the square plastic housing on the connector. Unlike many other reviewers, I had a problem finding an antenna with this FAKRA type of connector. The antennas used on newer receivers have a similar electrical connection, but without the plastic shell, so be sure of what you are buying.This Terk SIRMINI is advertised as the replacement for the older SIR3 antenna. The MINI is smaller than the SIR3 - a smaller footprint and not as thick - but works just as well.The thing that I liked better about the SIR3 antenna, compared to the newer SIRMINI, is the construction of the rubber tail that covers several inches of the cable before it enters the antenna. The SIR3 tail was installed on the cable at the factory and is flexible (It bends to match the curvature of the car roof). This makes it easy to get a nice looking installation. Unfortunately this SIRMINI antenna has a stiff plastic cover that snaps over the cable to act as the tail and it does not conform well to a curved surface. I was able to bend the cable cover to fit flush against the car roof, but the ends later popped up to leave small gaps that I had to hide by filling them with black silicone rubber.I found the SIR3 antenna still available at one place on the Internet, but at twice the cost of this newer antenna. For that price, I'll live with the silicone rubber caulk job.

Good price but
What is with the plastic light brown holder over the plug ?????????. Why does everyone have to cut it off?????????. Other then that looks, and works, just like the one that came with the Starmate unit. I am using this one for my other car. Again, Yes you have to cut the Light Brown holder at the end near the plug off in order for it to work on the Starmate. Why WHO KNOWS, just cut carefully and enjoy.

I got this years ago and still have it.
This is a replacement for the one Sirius sent. The one that came with the receiver broke in a couple of weeks while this one is still attached and working on my old XM receiver. Luckily Sirius totally revamped the way the antenna plug in so these are really a thing of the past. But if you're like me and can't get rid of something that still works and need replacement accessories then this was a good choice.

Sleek Look, Average Reception
New antenna purchased in July 05 for my Infiniti M45. Small, sleek look is pleasing to the eye. Magnets dont hold as well as my larger antenna did and reception is not much improved vs. old antenna (this may not be TERK's fault).Bottom line is this is an above average product at a great price.

Good reception, Great price.
Like the other reviews, the only real problem is that strange light brown plastic piece over the connector plug (note: you can not see it in the picture that amazon provides). Just carefully cut it off then your good to go. All in all it's a great value for the price.

Good replacement.
Antenna was a good replacement for my stock SIRIUS that went bad after a few months. Almost identical except for a plastic adapter on the plug that I had to remove.
