We were trail riding with our horses today and encountered lots of downed trees blocking the trails. (We had a lot of storms the last couple of weeks.) We were able to bypass most of them but then we came across one that there was no way around. Too low to go under, too high to go over. We were about to turn back when my husband remembered he had this in his saddle bag. This was NOT a small tree!!! But he and another rider cut it in half in no time! It worked amazingly well! Everyone was impressed!!! We were able to enjoy the rest of our ride thanks to this little tool. And it is so small & compact!!!! We'll never be without it from now on! Worth every cent!!!!! I wish I had taken pics, but I was holding my horse and both of their horses so I had my hands full!

I got this saw a week before a storm knocked a maple tree down in my yard and I didn't want to mess with my chainsaw in the rain, so I used this to cut a couple bigger branches and it worked great. It cuts fast, but don't get in a hurry or you're more likely to bind the chain. Keep it sharp and use it sensibly and I don't see this thing letting you down. Processing firewood while camping isn't nearly the chore it used to be. I got two of these, one for a bag I keep in my car and one for regular backpacking trips and will probably be buying more for the gear bags people have me assemble for them. I've already recommended it to several friends.

As a trail builder, I use a variety of tools for very specific purposes. In the past, I have used a pocket saw in situations where i don't want to risk my Silky BigBoy blade or a Pulaski is not available; e.g., cutting roots out of the trail tread. I don't routinely use the pocket saw for cutting overhead limbs as it is more difficult to maintain an offset position and keep the limb from binding the chain. For roots, I dig a passage way for the chain and carefully saw as I watch for binding. Is a handy tool and is always in my pack for backcountry trail work. Cannot comment on the durability of this product from the standpoint of performance and whether I can restore the sharpness after heavy use. Haven't had it long enough.

Great product for the overnight camping or just the hike. Way better upgrade then the small wire you get from the sportsman's stores.

Impressed with how well it works. larger logs or hardwood, easier with two people working together. The wider you have the chain, the easier. Great to throw in my camping gear but probably wouldn't take it on a backpacking trip if you are an ultralight backpacker.

What a great purchase! I had to learn not to bring the two ends close together like I'm wrapping it around a trunk but once I mastered that I was flying through debris!

Definitely easy to use. Definitely a good replacement for a chain saw. Keep in car for over landing or in backpack for backpacking
