MasterClass Shallow Casserole Dish with Lid 4L/28 cm, Lightweight Cast Aluminium, Induction Hob and Oven Safe, Black

This is a great casserole dish for stove-top (gas-hob) and oven use. While we have several proper Le Creuset casserole dishes, and a couple of cheaper knock-offs, they are REALLY HEAVY, even when empty, and Le Creuset can't go in the dishwasher. This, on the other hand, is a LIGHT AS A FEATHER and CAN GO IN THE DISHWASHER! I know many recipes specify a "heavy cast iron" pan for even heat distribution, and it's always nice to use the poncey pricey orange hardware when cooking for guests, but this little wonder is a joy to use, and it hasn't let me down yet. Overall, this is a great value pot, and is a joy to use.

I can't praise this pan enough. I purchased the shallow pan, which I find perfectly adequate for a family of four. The self basting lid is brilliant for a roast dinner (I've done roast lamb and potatoes in it, lovely). This particular pan may not be deep enough for a large chicken, (maybe get the larger sized pan), but it would be if you do what I do, and press down on the backbone, and give it a squash... I do that for the airfryer! I love the way that I can move this pan from hob, to oven, to table. It looks good enough to take to the table. It's very versatile, I made a chicken and leek pie today, all in one pan, from the hob to the oven. So saves on the washing up! It's extremely easy to clean. I personally put a little water in, lid on, bring to the boil, tip the water out, then wipe round with kitchen paper. Easy! I've found in the past that some pans promise to work on induction hobs, but unfortunately, they send me an error, turning my whole hob off. Not so with this one, I've used it a few times now without a problem. It has the look of a cast iron pan, but isn't as heavy, and it's kinder to your stove top. The only negative that I can find is that the pot and lid handles get hot, but, honestly, that isn't a problem. Nothing a pair of oven gloves won't fix. I'm going to invest in some silicone handle covers. All in all, an excellent buy, and well worth a five star review!

Quality casserole dish that cooks evenly. The self basting lid helps keep food moist. Lightweight yet sturdy construction and easy to clean. Good size for family meals and goes in the oven nicely.

Great casserole dish. Good depth. Induction friendly. Ceramic non stick interior. Light weight compared to cast iron which is awesome for a person with disabilities or muscoskeletal issues.

Love my MasterClass. It gets used at least once a week for a variety of one pot recipes I've been making over the months. One of my faves is a Chicken and Coconut Rice dish. It's really light compared to similar type dishes. The lid sits nice and I also bought the accessories (hand grips and lid top) to save burning my hands. Beware, without these rubber addons, the dish will get very hot during use. It takes longer than a conventional frying pan/dish to heat up, but once it does, I find it all cooks evenly and there's little to fault with the end product. Another major selling point for me, was the price. I consider it definite value for money and it has largely replaced other pans and dishes, freeing up lots of space in an already crowded cupboard. It can definitely act as a replacement for most of your frying pans, certainly the 24, 26 and 28cm sizes. It's a bit different to the rest of the colour scheme in my kitchen, however this does not create any issues and it stands out in that aspect. If it ever does get to breaking point, would buy another for sure.

I really didn't expect fantastic quality for the price but I was wrong. Very nice, sturdy, good size pot. Used it today to slow cook beef stew and dumplings, and omg, it was a winner. Cooks beautifully and cleans up wonderfully. Highly recommend. Will be definitely buying more

The pan works fine, however be aware that the handles appear to be made from the same metal as the pan and conduct significant heat, so you’ll need to use oven mits if you want to move the pan. This is a pretty big design flaw, I’ve never encountered this with a cooking pan before.

Il fatto di essere legera lo dici tutto! Penso comprare un'altra pentola. Mi piace tanto. Non c'è bisogno di usare fuoco alto. È una gioia cucinare con questo tipo di pentole. 🌷
