It doesn’t automatically shut off, it will just stop when the basket is full then as the ice melts back into the reservoir it will start making ice again.

Q: I need to take this with me on a trip...do you know if it is safe to fly (i.e in checked luggage)?

I mean, it’s not tiny. What are you planning on putting it in? Luggage?

Q: Is there a way to turn the machine off without unplugging it?

Yes, by hitting and holding the start button it will turn red and stop making ice until it is started again.

Q: Why is there a CA Prop 65 warning about cancer or reproductive harm?

Any product with freon (refrigerated or refrigerating) has that warning
