A good cheap alternative
I purchased this product after the first one I bought was not described as shown. This gouging torch is exactly what you see, the quality feels sturdy enough given the price point. I would definitely recommend if you are needing to gouge without the $500 price tag of the name brand torches.

Excellent tool
My husband has used these for years and says it is an excellent tool. It’s easy to hook up and use, and works great on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. He says it’s the right tool for the job. It works much better than an oxy acetaline torch for gouging.

Appears to be a return
I am not certain but this looks like it has been sent out and returned. Before I get to why I think that I will say this is a nice heavy gouging torch. The dual purpose hose is heavy. It has a place to connect you stinger clamp and air line at the base. It comes with a spare head assembly, the necessary tool the change the head and some insulation caps. The reason, I think this was modified is the screw located on the underside. There is a different screw and it looks like someone tried to grind out a place for countersinking the screw. If this is the way they all come then that is a poor design that you have to deface your product like this. If this was a return that was sent back out that can be a problem. There is no way to know if it was put back together properly and playing with this type of amperage is not something you want to take a chance with. I would like to hear from others that have purchased this if they received a torch in the same condition. Again, I can’t say for sure and I will wait to see if anyone else has had the same problem.
