Poppy is terrified
I am giving us four stars because my dog won’t go anywhere near it… as soon as I lift the pole up, she looks absolutely terrified… but, the item is as described. It would be nice if the rope was thicker. Hoping that she’ll grow to enjoy it over time!

Started great.
Broke after 1 day. My dog loved it initially, but after 1 day the top piece popped out and keeps popping out now after putting it back in.

Okay
The dog I use this for is a little scared of it, probably because of the pole. We don’t really use it, I’m trying to get him to warm up to it but he rather play with other toys than this. Maybe a younger puppy would prefer this.

Not bully proof, but that's okay! 3 star review.
I'm aware this is a toy for a smaller breed, but that's okay! I got this for my dog where he's a sweet, energetic boy, and he goes nuts! I don't know if this is a feature or not, but it worked out well. The top pops off, or at least it did with us. As mentioned before, I have a bully breed, so he is energetic and wants to play tug of war, but the top pops off for him to run away with it. Comes in handy. It is on the smaller side. Be sure to have good hand eye coordination when playing with your pup. If they don't catch it all the time and go nuts like mine does they will love it! If they are a toy destroyer, this might not be the toy for them. Overall, though, this was worth it. It's almost like playing with a cat toy with my dog.

Flirt poles are great for active pups
I work with dogs for a living and have had much experience owning my own.Flirt poles are great exercise toys for dogs that need to get out some energy, and make for excellent photoshoots too! If your dog has any type of a prey drive or likes to chase and fetch you should have no trouble getting them used to a flirt pole- flinging around the toy end of the "fishing pole" style pole you can get your dog actively engaged and jumping, running, and generally having all-around a great time. This particular one is about as good as any of them and arrived well packaged.

Really long
My big dog would always play with the cat toys like this so I thought she might like this. Well, it’s raining now so I haven’t gone outside with it, but it is much too long to try and even slightly swing this indoors. I even used only half the pole and I have no control of waving the rope around. I had to “choke up” on the rope to move it at all. I feel like even if I go outside with this, I will be the one exerting a time of energy to get this to swing around while my dog will just wait for it to come near her before she grabs it. Just my opinion.

Great way to burn off excess puppy energy.
My puppy, Zoe, has a very strong prey drive and she loves these flirt poles. I attach the rope toy or any other toy to the end of the pole and drag it around the yard or even spin in a circle and she goes bonkers chasing the toy all over the place. She has a blast with this thing, and it makes me laugh watching her as she runs around. It’s a great way to burn off her excess energy and satisfy her prey drive so she’s not quite so motivated to chase the poor cat. It’s quick and easy to put together, very sturdy, and comes with a convenient bag for storage and easy carrying. This is easily one of the best pet toys I’ve ever gotten, and I intend to buy a few more to make sure I always have one available when my puppy starts to get a bit rambunctious.

The rope attaches at the end of the pole!
All the other flirt toys we have has the rope running down through the handle. My son is horrible with following directions and keeps forgetting to put his hand through the loop at the end and lets the dogs tug the rope through the handle and they are a pain in the butt to rethread. This one has a metal clip that clips into a loop on the end of the pole. This is a great plus for me. This also will allow me to easily replace the rope or toy when the dogs chew through it.I have 2 Malinois and they need these to burn off some of their energy because they are wired, 100% go all the time if you can't burn some of it off. They also love tugging and chewing. My female's back teeth are like scissors. It only takes seconds of my son leaving the toys laying down for her to chew through a rope. The toy is a braided rope tug toy that comes with it but you can attach about anything to it.They pole does break down and comes with a nice little bag to carry it around in. Hopefully if I get the boy to put it in the bag when he is done it will last a little longer.
