Best one so far
My wife is extremely, and I mean extremely, sensitive to fragrance. Two brain surgeries are the cause of that. The slightest stinky floral fragrance (I'm talking to you, Philosophy; ugh) is enough to trigger a multiple-day migraine. Everything these days including even packaging is fragranced it seems, and you now have to seek out unscented versions of products which in the past were never scented. Insanity. Anyway, she used Eucalan for several years on the advice of the lingerie shop she goes to. She tried a different product called Soak, and that was a massive failure. She went back to Eucalan and is happy once again. Highly recommend this product whether you're sensitive to fragrance or not. Couldn't be easier to use: mix a small amount in water, soak the item overnight, let it dry. No rinsing, scrubbing, agitation, or anything else required. Gentle on the most fragile of items. Great for cloth masks, lingerie, or whatever. You can use it in a washing machine as well, although I'd only do that using a lingerie bag, small volume, gentle cycle.

The difference
Look at the ingredients of many wool washes. I have found this one to leave my sheepskins the softest and cleanest that they have ever been after the dreaded wash. Eucalan contains the one extra ingredient that makes a huge difference- linoleum! It's nice to not have to add diluted linoleum separately as a after step. This is a one step, no rinse process that i now trust. The hides with wool were my biggest challenge so woolen garments are an easy breeze. The only downside is that I find this a bit more expensive than others per oz.

Cleaned my sheep skins beautifully!
I am the proud & happy owner of 2 sheep skins that are washable. The small business from whom I purchased them provide clear washing instructions, including the need to use detergent specifically formulated for wool. Though expensive per ounce, this product did an excellent job cleaning and refreshing the one our dog naps on and also puked on one day. The fragrance is light, fresh, and natural. Very soothing and not perfumey or overwhelming. In addition, even though I washed each lambskin in its own wash cycle, I only used a small portion of this small bottle. So, a little goes a long way and gets the job done. It may be different if you're washing a small load of wool clothing items. But lammies (as we call them) are of a good size. So, I imagine ounce-for-ounce usage would be similar. I highly recommend the Eucalan lavender scent and would definitely purchase it again.

Good product with some shipping issues
I ordered the grapefruit scent but received lavender instead. This wasn't a huge deal for me but just be aware that you may not receive the scent that you ordered. The bottle had leaked slightly during transport. Otherwise it worked perfectly well to hand wash some woollen items that couldn't go in the washing machine.

A must have for laundering sheepskin rugs!
My adult children grew up with multiple New Zealand sheepskin “rugs” to nap and play on, and we still have most of them. Not surprisingly, when one of my daughters had her own baby last year she got him one of his own. After his had been machine washed with a “delicate” laundry soap for woolens a couple of times, the skin side was no longer supple and was more like cardboard, and the fur wasn’t as soft as it once was. After one machine wash (sans rinse) in warm water with Eucalan lanolin, and even tumble dried to a little drier than damp on very low heat, the skin is renewed and supple, and the fur is as soft as it should be. I purchased the unscented and it truly left no scent behind. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs to care for a natural sheepskin.

Woolies isnt for wool, this is
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Maybe Woolite was originally for wool, but i was surprised to find out that it wasn't. I had bought a nice wool sweater in Ireland and what I hadn't noticed once, was that it was in a bag in my trunk that also had a spoiled chocolate protein shake in it, which must have exploded on a hot day. So my nice sweater had been sitting for days in a thick, spoiled milk. I had only had the sweater for a couple of months and thought that I would have to throw it out. It smelled like baby puke. Instead, I decided to research how to get it out. I soaked it in water with baking soda and then used this stuff, which I had seen recomended. Then followed the instructions and the sweater was brand new again. While the bottle is small for the price, the need will be infrequent and now I have it on hand if/when my wife or I need a special wool cleaner.

A Bit of Adjusting Washing Ideas Needed
Before you read further, know the end results were good. Just a different way of getting there. I chose unscented, so ranked it high, though I have to admit the scent of wet fur, even clean wet fur isn't particular charming. It is what it is, and it does dry out to a sort of neutral scent. That this in water is to be worked through the sheepskin, allowed to soak several minutes, squeezed through again, and NOT RINSED made it a unique experience. Flat drying requirements when tight wringing is ill-advised is also a challenge. I have ordered a foldable flat drying device for the next time. As it was, I happened to have a means to sort of flat dry it, while keeping it out of direct sunlight, as instructed, but it was very slow. Probably should have rolled it in a thick towel...or two...before attempting to dry it. All in all, it was a multi-day project, but the results were good, and we certainly would not want to damage the skin, when there is the great product to do the job right.

A little pricey but was great for blocking my projects. Left a really light lovely scent and a little bit goes a long way.
