USB C to DVI-D Adapter

I had the older Apple monitor boxed up and with this adapter I was able to used it again on a newer Mac mini., Works perfectly.

Works great for old monitors

It appears to be well made, but it is not compatible with my Apple Cinema Display which is a DVI connection due to Thunderbolt 3/4 comparability issues. However, I won’t ding the review as that is an apple issue and not this product. I’m just writing the review to alert potential buyer.

Four stars because this dongle doesn't have the best shielding. It caused a lot of wifi and bluetooth interference with my Macbook Pro 2018 when I first used it. The fix was wrapping this with foil - looks really silly but it works! It's a known issue with the Macbook Pro 2018 that some USB-C dongles with poor shielding will cause issues, especially if you are on a 2.5 ghz wifi band. The Apple branded adapters don't cause interference, but Apple does not make a USB-C adapter for a DVI port - I guess it's too old school for them :) When I first bought it, I could not figure out why the connection was so poor to my still thriving HP monitor (display flickering, would lose connection often) and why my internet and bluetooth connection was so choppy (mouse, keyboard, and Airpods would often disconnect - first world problems, I know). I was just about to go on a tirade to xfinity about my internet when I did some research and found out that this was a known issue with Macbook Pro 2018. One helpful forum suggested a silly fix to wrap foil around the adapter. I chuckled at the thought of tinfoiling something (flashing to the tinfoil hat scene with Joaquin Phoenix in Signs) but I figured this was a cheaper solution than replacing my old monitor. So I grabbed some foil and made sure to wrap the entire adaptor in foil and VOILA - solution worked! No issues with bluetooth, internet was solid, and all was well. All in all, great product since it's hard to find a solid adapter for USB-C to DVI. It hasn't failed me since the foil fix.

I've been using a no-name USB C to VGA adapter from my Macbook Pro M1 to my 10 year old 20" HP S2031 for over a year. I finally got tired of the low resolution and intermittent blinking, and planned to buy a new monitor. As a last resort I tried this BENFEI USB C to DVI Adapter and IT LOOKS GREAT. I was quite surprise and am extremely happy with the result. I even lowered the resolution for my normal typing and searches and will increase it for my video editing and photo work. I figure it saved me at least $150. I'm extremely please. I highly recommend it. With free returns, how can you go wrong?

I have a 2008 Apple Cinema Display that I picked up locally for 40 bucks, in the hope that I could use it as a monitor for a Mac Mini I purchased about four years ago. It worked well then, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it also allowed me to connect a new M3 Macbook Pro to the same monitor with no issues. I have used this item regularly for the past couple of years and have had no issues at all. It's well-built, insanely cheap, and gets the job done!

I recently upgraded my MacBookPro for a newer 2019 model which has four USB Type C ports. My old MacBookPro had a MiniDisplay port with which I ran an Apple Cinema HD 23" DVI monitor with an Apple DVI-to-MiniDisplay adaptor. I assumed that an Apple MiniDisplay-USB Type C adaptor would work with the new MBPro. It did not. So I tried the CableCreation USB Type C to DVI adaptor which claims compatibility with the 2019 MBPro. It did not work. Then I tried the Benfei USB Type C to DVI adapter which also claims compatibility with the new MBPro. It did not work. Next I tried the UPTab USB Type C to MiniDisplay adaptor thinking that it would work with my Apple DVI-MiniDisplay adaptor. It did not. Finally, I tried the "Club 3D CAC-1510-A USB C to Dual Link DVI-D Adapter HDCP Off" adaptor. IT WORKS!!! It is worth noting here that Apple does not provide an adaptor to support their own older, perfectly functional, DVI monitors.

Terrific solution and value. Using with a 23" beautiful Apple Cinema Display and 2018 Mac Mini. During the initial setup (fresh OS install) the display went black a few times. This had me concerned. After the computer finished the setup routine the display has worked flawlessly. The expensive Apple HDMI - to - DVI adapter never did work well. This is much, much better. Also tried it with an inexpensive Dell 1920/1080 DVI display and it immediately worked perfectly. Very pleased!

Jag baserade mitt köp på recensionerna här och YES! Tusen tack till er som har också köpt/testat och skrivit sedan här.. Benfei fungerar ypperligt hos mig. Jag kopplade ihop min gamla skärm som är ACD 20" (aluminium modell) med MacBook Pro late 2018 15" och har egentligen två skärmar kopplade. Min stora 34" curved LG som är kopplad med HDMI till en 12 South USB-hub och denna tar upp en port på laptopen. ACD 20" koppla alltså direkt till datorn. De ser varandra och jag hanterar appfönster utan problem.

Très pratique pour brancher un deuxième écran sur son PC portable. Le port HDMI sur le premier écran externe, le second sur l'USB-C. Simple, ça marche tout seul. Il faut juste configurer l'affichage des écrans sur Windows pour que la souris se balade logiquement entre les écrans. Pas de saut d'image, ça marche nickel.
