This was a tryout for a project I thought I would try and it works perfectly. Bought an electronic fly swatter from Harbor, $7.00 and it killed flys instantly,but then we got murder Hornets, bigass things that hunt you at night, and the swatter just pissed them off. So I took one of these step up Modules and wired it to the swatter using a 9 volt battery because it fit inside the handle. Let me just say that the thing now sounds so powerful the noise alone says look out! It frys these Monsters ( they are about 1 1/2 inches long and fat) and its sad but fun too, my Wife is allegoric to bees and couldnt take a chance on the Hornets because I was stung and its like 5 Yellow Jacket stings!

These ran fine half of a half didnt Main for battery. Even hit my arm once and it was the worst pain I think ive ever felt in my life. This brings up the safety issue though, when you have high-voltage capacitors Capable of storing terrifying amounts of electricity, It is not uncommon to see your sister across the two pause in the capacity to allow a slow bleed down so as to prevent injury from accidental contact across the two leads. These coils DO NOT contain any current bleed down device as youll notice after the arc extinguishes, the secondary wires will give one final “pop” if shorted together after de energizing. Be careful!!

I purchased three of these. 1 was DOA . 1 worked for about 1 min and the other about 3 mins. After reading other reviews I determined that they WILL NOT handle 12 Volts. I ordered 3 more and will try at 6 volts.

used as a ignition source on homemade weed and army worm burner, these little guys have some serious punch, almost bone chilling to hear it crackle. tried some others and these are nasty, highly recommend don't kill yourself with them
