No leaks!.. UPDATED REVIEW" AFTER 2 YRS USE IT SUDDENLY CRACKED!
UPDATED REVIEW 7/2025... after being in service on my sprinkler system for two years this union suddenly split open today at the top of the large collar you use to tighten the union together. It could have been a huge flooding disaster as this was fed by a 3/4" copper pipe right from my home's water main! Luckily, I was home when it split and I heard this huge rush of water running "somewhere" in the house and since I was the only one home at the time I knew I was not running water anywhere in the house. I ran down to the basement and shut of the main water inlet valve to the house which of course stopped the rushing water sound. After looking behind all the cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom vanities which were still dry, I moved to outside where saw it was the union connection to my front lawn sprinkler system. Averting what could have been a real $$$$$$ flooding disaster if I had not been home when this plastic union gave way, I have now replaced this plastic union with a brass union which will not break or split apart for no reason. I urge all buyers to do the same, forger saving a few $$, go with a metal (brass/stainless/galvanized) union for your own peace of mind! Imagine if I had been at work when this happened or out of town!!! ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 5/2023 BELOW: Used this 1" union/slip joint between my sprinkler valves and the water supply line. Now if a valve goes bad or cracks over the winter because of ice buildup it will be very easy and quick to replace. Happy to report no leaks at the union coupling!

Dainty little fellow.
I installed this on the sprinkler back flow valve. It split at a mold seam less than 2 whole days after installed. It flooded the side of the house and filled a window well with water. I regret this purchase.
