Would buy again
Works amazing. I've been using it to strip pine logs that fell during hurricane Helene. That way some of the trees which broke or uprooted got some use other than just being chipped. And yes that is how they use the trees that come down during these storms. I made a raised garden out of a few and this helped me stripped the bark off without much problem. Although I do recommend if you're stripping pine bark wait for a month for the tar to settle otherwise you're not really getting all that bark off. Once I waited a month, I got everything debarked easily and quickly. I love the leather case that goes over the blade since it stops any accidental cutting when not using it or during storage it protects the blade to some degree. It's not going to keep the blade from rusting but it does allow you to carry it without concern for cutting yourself. And that's why I bought this particular one. I've used it now for two 10 ft, two 4 ft and seven 2 ft. I plan to continue to use it on the two feet as I am making them into benches for my fire pit (punishment for the tree that fell on the house because now they will have butts sitting on them), lol. I don't know how it compares to others on here because this was the first one I tried. The quality is very good, the blade is thick and so is the leather cover. I was very happy with what I received for the price. It's easy to use and easy to control because the handles fit your hands very well and feels substantial.

Worth the money, and nice having the leather scabbard.
Works well for debarking white spruce, which is all I’ve used it on so far. It’s obviously not a high-end, German or English hand made tool or anything of that nature, but it’s fine for the price. When the time comes, it should be easy to hone with a flap disc on an angle grinder. Good enough for peeling bark. I’m sure it could be sharpened even better if you wanted to use it for more of spokeshave type work, but if I were doing a lot of that, I’d just get a spokeshave. Having the scabbard included was a nice bonus.

Sharp.
It came out of the box, sharp and sturdy. Came with sheath. Tried on a couple branches and works as expected. I don’t write these and yet here I am.

You’re better off buying vintage and restoring it. This thing needs a lot of love out of the box.
I’ll admit I bought it was low expectations, but I was still letdown. The only thing decent about this product is the leather sheath that came with it which is rather nice honestly. The handles were unfinished and dirty. There was no real edge on the blade, except for on the left and right sides. The center was completely missing an edge, and there were parts of the blade that protrude out much further than others. Took me quite some time to work a decent edge on this thing and then some more time finishing up the handles overall, I’d say I would’ve rather bought a vintage one and restored it with all the time I put into this one would not purchase again highly suggest you don’t purchase.

Nice knife, why is it blunt?
This draw knife seems like it's well built for the money but why is this things edge blunt? I don't mean dull, I mean blunt. Also, as another reviewer stated, the instructions tell you never to cut towards your body. . . .it's a draw knife. . . . . . . sort of in the name that you will pull towards yourself. That said I haven't used it yet. Assuming it takes and edge it should be serviceable and I'm looking forward to using it.

Nice tool!
I have a few projects in the works for some wood collected from pruning. I have some hardwood branches that need to be trimmed up. I have every intention to use the wood for something nice. The current branch has gotten too long and drapes nearly to the ground.I like the sturdiness of the very shape blade. I can tell it was made with precision standards. The wooden handles are tight and will serve well for handling. I noted the fine detail of the leather blade safety cover. It has great snaps to secure the wrap. The leather is thicker and has been well preserved.

Sharp and awesome
The steel is excellent quality. The edge is super sharp. I love the leather case. It is a very high-quality tool. The results of using it are great. I would recommend!
