Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Very clear, thoroughly recommended - Very clear and easy to use, lots of good exercises with answers at the back and great online audio and other resources. Review: Excellent book ! - The Arabic alphabet is introduced in such a clear way , so easy to follow -- introduced in groups -- you can start reading Arabic words right from the beginning !! LOTS of practice at using initial vocab in different ways/formats , through a variety of exercises . Really gives the feeling from the first few pages " Hey , I can do this ! " Makes learning Arabic feel possible ! One or two things ... Early on , it is suggested that the learner completes the questions in the exercises in a " right to left " direction , to support becoming accustomed to reading the Arabic script ... Good idea , BUT , only that ONE exercise is numbered from right to left !!! Subsequently , they're numbered from left to right , or , vertically !!! On page 29 , there is a mistake in the instructions on joining the letter ha to other letters --- reference to letters " before " and " after " ha have been used the wrong way round , as though we were reading from left to right , rather than right to left . Apart from these points , it's a really excellent book --- entertaining and attractive to learn from . And there is online audio teaching attached to the course .

A self teaching book that works
I really enjoyed this book - its presentation seemed to work just right for me and I quickly learnt the alphabet and could start reading. The pictures help with the vocabulary and I likes he online resources that made it more fun and allowed me to understand the pronunciation. I'd definitely recommend this to others

Traditional book with modern online support
After some research, i chose this book as my primary reference for self-teaching. The approach supported by online materials is generally excellent. The choice of beginner vocabulary items is sometimes a bit off (as with most online flashcard apps).

Not an easy book to work with if you're learning alone
I've been working through this for a few months now & am finding it increasingly frustrating. Words keep popping up that haven't yet been introduced and the vowel marks are dropped very early on. The book explains that experienced readers of Arabic no longer need these but I don't see how the reader is supposed to have reached that stage after only a few chapters. I went back to the start & worked through it again assuming I must have missed or forgotten things but hit the same wall again. I've taught myself Latin & Greek from books so am used to difficult languages, but this book just doesn't play 'fair'. The audio parts are good (and important) but as I am now coming across long sections of written Arabic that I am simply unable to read - and with no teacher to ask - I'm thinking of looking for a different text to work with. The book should be testing us on things we've actually learnt *from the book itself*, and the vowel marks *need* to be there to assist beginners (who are the target audience after all!) Too many of the exercises fell like being given an exam when you've missed half the lessons.

Arabic is super difficult and no matter what tools we use to learn it, it won't get any easier. This book, however, makes it a bit nicer though

Es un buen libro de enseñanza del árabe, incluso diría que sirve de forma autodidacta. En comparación al minna no nihongo, por ejemplo, este es mucho mejor
