Super Fine with Precise Control
Very happy with the purchase. I wondered if 0.05 mm would be too fine, but it turned out that it was just what I needed. The ink flow is perfect, and it dries very quickly, so it doesn't smear after drawing a line with a ruler. In the photo, all of the annotations are done with the Staedtler 0.05 mm, and all the other lines are drawn with ballpoint pens. The annotations need to be drawn with a 0.05 mm pen. When I look at the lines, I can't tell a big difference, but drafting with a ballpoint pen is pretty frustrating, and the pen really doesn't have good control at all.

Wonderful pens
Staedtler pens are always a great choice. These write smoothly on various surfaces.

great pro pens for drawing
OK. I’m a professional illustrator and these are great quality professional pigment pens. Good solid black and lots of line widths to pull just what I need. Cheaper as a set on Amazon than buying individually at the art store. A lot of comic artists use them. I draw and moments later they’re dry and I can erase without blurring lines. I don’t draw “heavy” so in my use the tips hold up.

The perfect pen for writing and drawing
The pens are wonderful. Write smooth and black ink is clear. It is a bit strange though, I bought 5, but it arrived in 10 count box. No big deal just curious.

Good deal of $2.35 each
5 pens for $11.75 is a pretty good deal. Other stores like Blick sold them for $5 each. All the pens I received still had a good flow of ink but they feel like pens that sat around. Although, the box that it came in was in rough condition. It looked like someone opened it. Even so, the pens came out fine.

They hold up, don’t smear or run , Fabulous!
I absolutely love these pens! I use them for art projects and daily writing. I am an artist, art teacher and very picky about writing implements. They hold up very well when used in multimedia projects and believe me I abuse them mercilessly. They don’t smear or run.

My favorite liners
I love Staedtler liners and prefer them to the more hobbyist-standard Micron pens or the more scratchy and difficult to control tech-style pens. The ink takes a moment to dry so be careful not to smudge, though I find these smudge less than other pens. The larger sizes do put out a higher volume of ink and therefore take longer to dry. I like to use these with alcohol-based markers for a tidy, graphic look, but they also work quite well with watercolor. I'd advise against trying to use them *over* colored pencil or wax pastels or crayons as the wax in these tools can make it difficult for the ink to stick and it ends up smearing or just not coming out properly. The wax can also clog the tips, so just generally I do not recommend that combination. They don't work super well for going *under* wax tools, either, as the wax-based color tends to obscure the lines. It depends on what look you want though. They are, however, especially with the varied sizes in this pack, great for ink work on its own, provided you take care not to rub your hand over the area you just drew on immediately afterward, and give them a few minutes before running an eraser over them (erasers tend to smear long after your hand does not) if you have a pencil sketch underneath. You can achieve interesting effects by smearing larger areas of ink with your finger intentionally, though your fingers will get quite dirty... one of the only downsides of these, that they tend to leave you with a lot of black on your hands even if you don't smear them at all. The danger of any art is, of course, getting dirty.. or maybe it's a benefit. These are my favorite pens to ink with, and I've never had any package arrive with the pens dried out (unlike other pen brands I could name). You can get them in any decent art store but they are, of course, much cheaper on Amazon, and if you have Prime can be obtained nearly as quickly as a drive to your local Michael's. I will always recommend these to any artist regardless of their level of experience.

Better than Microns in a few ways
I like Microns and used them a lot, but I decided to try these ones and have now replaced my Microns for writing and drawing. My most used ones are the 005, and the Pigment Liners definitely feel less scratchy at that size. The tips might also be more durable, but maybe I just wasn't gentle enough with the Microns before I knew better. Drying time seems about the same, but what I really appreciate is that they smear less than Microns when highlighted. Under my specific conditions anyway (Kokuyo Campus Loose Leaf paper; Zig Clean Color Dot pens to highlight). The Microns would smear and get their ink on my dot pens even if I highlighted them days after writing.

These are some of the best waterproof, permanent markers you will ever own. They never skip or spatter and lay down a nice, even black line. They last a very long time and are excellent for inking your artistic masterpieces. These are every bit as impressive as Micron markers and night and day above no-name, cheap knockoffs. I have ordered these many times as they are far cheaper on Amazon than any art supply store. Highly recommended.
