Very good lock
Great combination lock. Easy to set up as long as you know how to reset the combination later. Instructions do not tell you. Very hard to open without combination. As with regular locks where they can stick a piece of metal down alongside the shaft and open the lock. Very pleased.

Perfect lock for a storage unit.
I purchased this lock to use on my cleaning businesses storage unit. I needed a lock that was safe, secure and can be opened using a combination. I’m pleased to say this lock is perfect! It cannot be clipped off and it is easy to change the combination. The only difficult part is figuring out how to open it for the first time, you have to spin the piece on the outside of the combination and was hard for one of my employees to figure out at first. This is a simple hurdle to get over, once you open it and understand how the mechanism works it’s very easy! I also use this lock in a higher elevation location where I’d gets extremely cold, sometimes below zero and I’ve never had a problem opening this lock even in those temperatures.

Secures Conex type door locking handles
See update below: I purchased this to lock my container box built by Shanghai Baoshan Pacific. My main concern was that the shackle opening would accommodate the locking handles on the box. It does, see picture. This lock will resist bolt cutters. The body seems adequate but does not have the ultra tough feel of more expensive locks. I wonder how long it could withstand a beating attack with a large hammer. Update 10/4/2020 In my previous review I wondered how long this lock would last during a hammer attack. I have also wondered about some of the other ways to defeat this lock by holding the shackle, reprogramming while locked etc. First I'll say I was never able to recreate the results listed by other reviewers on the lock I received. Is that due to updated lock design? Don't know. My main reason for updating this review is the brute force attack method of defeating this lock. On 9/8/2020 my property was burned out by a forest fire in California. The lock was still holding the locking bars on the container box, but showed serious sign of heat damage. The thumb wheels were melted out with only slag debris in the tumbler cavity. Wanting into my container box I went to work on. The large hammer method failed to open it. I went to my burned out garden shed and got the rock bar. Jabbed at it dozens of times making very good strikes with the bars pointy end, no luck. Found a leangth of chain with a catch hook. Hooked the chain to the lock and rock bar. Went for the lever pull, zero action. Extended the lever with a 10' stick of unistrut. Just bent the unistrut. Finally flagged down a fire crew. They came down with bolt cutters. They took one look at it and cut off the swivel locking hasp attached to the container box. Huh? Well the lock is still hanging there. Moral of this story is: It does not matter what lock you have if you do not have hardened steel hardware holding it.

Not as good a concept as one would think!
This lock design works well if you have a very specific need. That being said, I could've got a regular lock however, I was tired of walking out to my shed, realizing I had forgot the key and then walking back to get the key. I bought this lock because it had a combo -no need for that pesky key. It's sort of difficult spinning the tumblers to get the correct number but it's better than needing that key that I always seem to forget. Also -I think it's pretty sturdy but also pretty stiff to turn it to open it. No one will break this lock by beating it -but I'm suspect as to how easy it would be for someone to just keep spinning the tumblers until they hit the right combo! Thankfully, we're in a pretty decent crime-free neighborhood but if you aren't -I think I'd stay away from this one.

Works but a little tight/sticky at times
Clearance is pretty low on this one so you need to make sure the chain size is appropriate. It also gets a little sticky on occasion. Overall a good lock Update: less than a year later I have decided this lock is more valuable in the trash can. It can't fit a chain big enough to actually be applicable and excuse the low clearance required for it to be more secure.

Easy to remove the lock once on a standard storage locker from Public Storage, Easy Space, etc.
Hi All. I bought yesterday. I needed to take photos of the instructions so I could see on my iphone. I was worried whether I would able to get the lock on and off a public storage locking system. No problem. You can easily set the 4 digit code using a dime to twist the small metal circle with a ridge in the middle. Then set the code, and turn the little metal ridge back to vertical. Now the 4 digit code is stored. It is easy to unlock using the 'handle's on the face. A very well thought out design.

Easy to use
This lock was easy to set up, easy to lock and unlock and fits my shed latch perfectly for locking up. I was concerned that this would be difficult to lock and unlock, but so far it has been very easy to open and close the lock. I tested the ability to reset the code if you forget your combination, long story short, if you forget, better get a new lock and new door/latch, cause this lock isn't budging.

Absolutely great product used for our Storage Unit. A name brand you can rely on and trust. It didn't rust and no key to lose. I love the fact you chose your own combination as well! Would purchase this product again and again. Strong and durable as well which stands to reason it is a BRINKS

It's a nice, heavy duty lock, and the combination works really well. Use it to lock up my ice fishing shack.

Like others said, the number wheels are hard to turn. Beside that, it's fine. Does not look like top quality but it does the job up to now.
