Use Strut Channels
The product works well. Easy to install. Easy, efficient. I recommend using strut channel to install it. That way you are not fighting with stud placement and spacing. Totes come in different sizes, and may not match your ceilings stud layout. If you use strut channel, adjusting the product to fit your totes is easy.

Do yourself a favor, get some 2x4
Each end of the mounts is 16” if you studs are off by any amount you will not have a good time. I cut 2x4 into 30” pieces so it is the same length as the tote and marked the middle. The mounts go directly I. The middle now. If I was to put them into the studs it would hold it oddly. Then you can measure as needed and pre drill and set the mounts. This will save you blood sweat and tears. Other than those issues these work well. If the mounts were longer and were a bit more “universal” than it would be a 5 out of 5 product. Having to rig things up drops it a little.

Good but definitely major design flaw for intended use
As other reviews point out, the max bolt spacing is actually only about 15.5” due to the rivets at the end, so if you have 16” studs and are running these perpendicular, you will not be able to hit the studs without adding blocking above, which obviously takes up the additional clearance room of the blocking you use and adds a step. For where I wanted these, I was running them parallel to the studs so I knew I had to add blocking anyway and mounted them on 2x4s that were lagged into the studs and it worked great!
