Product description Remastered with bonus track-1978 breakthrough album includes "Because The Night" .com Patti Smith cowrote her first big hit, "Because the Night," with Bruce Springsteen, and that track was the force behind this album's ascent of the U.S. Top 40. Never fully departing from her punk-poetess roots, Easter was nonetheless produced by hit maker Jimmy Iovine, resulting in a more accessible overall sound than her earlier work. Her vocal gymnastics and dramatic rock & roll sensibilities threw sparks in every direction, with the vitriolic "Rock N Roll Nigger" and the anthemic "Till Victory" further paving the way for punks and women rockers everywhere. Churchly keyboards and huge drums drive Smith's quest for "a reason to live" on the religiously inquisitive "Privilege" and she's unabashedly sexy on the raunchy "25th Floor." A great work all around. --Lorry Fleming

Amazing Seller, amazing records
This seller rocks. The record sleeve had some discoloring but it said used so I knew what I was getting into. The record itself is perfect and that’s what counts. The record arrived quickly. Very happy. The second best part of this seller is he sent a free vinyl record. Carole King Fantasy: not sure if they were just trying to expand my collection but I love Carole King so this surprise was top notch. I recommend this seller highly

This Chick can Rock
It seems as though today, there is a new segregation enforced by the music industry: girls are expected to do "pop" while rock is for guys. Listen to any contemporary hard rock station and you are unlikely to hear a female voice. This was not always the case as evidenced by Patti Smith on this fine album. She is a rocker to the core. I am among those who believe Easter is a better album than Horses. While Horses was groundbreaking, Patti's vocal delivery on it was very mannered, which distracts from some of the songs. On Easter, she just belts them out. I believe Easter has stood the test of time better than Horses, and is her best album. The album is loaded with great songs. Her version of "Because the Night" is definitive. It is passionate, sexy, and completely outclasses the bland, wonderbread remake by Natalie Merchant. All the other tracks from the original album are just as good. The only song I was not entirely impressed with was the bonus track, "Godspeed", but that's a small point. Get Easter if you want one of the great, underrated albums of the 70's.
