Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 4th Gen USB Audio Interface, for Musicians, Songwriters, Guitarists, Content Creators — High-Fidelity, Studio Quality Recording, and All the Software You Need to Record

I have two of these now wired into each other so that I can 2 people on individual cameras and mics at the same time, and these work amazingly well. It replaced my Tascam 4x4, which was a good audio interface, but anyone I was recording with had to deal with the lag of our own voices coming through on each other's headsets. Not so with the Scarlett! Getting to hear the person I'm recording with on my headset as they're talking rather than even a millisecond later has had a major impact on my recording quality, and the number of times I have to edit out someone going, "What?" The Asio channels means I record every input to its own track and have full editing capabilities of that person's audio without messing with my own. And something that is worth more than I realized it would be are the virtual audio channels in this device. I can route specific audio channels from my PC to my headphones without requiring them to be outputted to a specific channel, and I can even run inputs into my DAW, use live compressors or other VSTs and output them back to the virtual channels so I can use noise reduction and filters on live audio during streams! And all that hasn't even gotten into their midi capabilities! The software has a slight learning curve to figure out how to route audio through it, but it's really intuitive if you take a little time to play with the options. I also just love the design, quality build with red boxes on my desks, and physical volume knobs for my inputs and headsets is terrific. The one warning I have to give, because it threw me off at first, is that only two input channels use XLR. The other two inputs on the back use 1/4" balanced TRS cables. The Scarlett will still work fine with unbalanced TS cables, but the sound quality between my two Scarletts had noticeably less noise when I upgraded them to TRS cables. Definitely I'm glad I made this upgrade, it was well worth the price, and I recommend the Scarlett to anyone who wants to take a step up in podcast audio or music creation.

This is my first Audio Interface, and I absolutely love it. Whether I am sending midi out to my synths, capturing audio from my synths and other instruments, just listening to music, or gaming, it can do it all. The sound quality is excellent for the value. It is relatively easy to use so long as you know how to configure Audio Interfaces and Midi devices within your DAW. The build quality is also solid. However, I have noticed that some games and software can cause the driver to crash, resulting in all output being cut off until I do a reboot or restart the service. Focusrite is also regularly coming out with software updates so I expect this thing to improve over time.

I started out with the new 4th gen 2 input one. But had it for just one day before I realized I needed the larger one. Initially I figured I wouldn't mind just swapping out inputs for things, but I also realized I preferred a single one to include the single MIDI input I had from a full sized piano. Only downside is that the people who reviewed these new 4th gen Scarlett devices said you really need a headphone with high impedance. So that limited my options for headphones, but I found a set that works fine. Love the clarity and ease. NO issues with my condenser mike, MIDI, etc. Separate controls for studio monitors and headphones is nice. Love the input options.

I really liked the easy process of getting the software and driver installed, registering the product, really everything was just quick and seamless. Very impressive. (Windows 11) And the interface itself was really easy to get up to speed. Probably because I've been using an interface for a long time, that helps. My previous interface was an old Line 6 UX2, which I never had any issues with. But this Scarlett 4i4 is superior for sure. Number of inputs: Since I have 5 separate XLR cables coming from various amps, Torpedo Captor X, etc, I really wanted to have at least 5 XLR inputs. But that was just going to be too expensive and not really necessary. I ended up getting a mixer with 6 XLR inputs, then it has 2 balanced outputs to the Scarlett 4i4. This is working awesome for me. I can't believe I put up with juggling XLR connections for so long. This set up is amazing.

Interface works well. Connected to my Mac / logic with no issue. Love that air button 5 stars for the device But don’t be fooled by all the supposed free plugins and crap offered. It’s a big nothing sandwich. Drum kit don’t work and either do the recording software. Plugin alliance only gave me pdf instructions for their plugins — not the actual plugins…All of it is just crap. I wasted a whole afternoon DL garbage. Next time I’ll try another brand that’s more truthful in advertising. I hate being scammed.

Amazing interface, includes all the features an intermediate home producer will ever need. Good sound quality, both input and output. No latency, worth the money. Build quality is pretty solid too.

Excellent. Apparently record more than 2 instruments at a time. Good for my gaming/music set-up. Power stays on even when computer is off. Can't change the power setting in BIOS for that USB-C port for some reason. Used a on desk USB hub to control power when not in use. Discord doesn't notice it's plugged in sometimes. Handsome. Small. Sturdy. Cable is short. Light gain control and monitor is great.

Came all the way from Germany to Asia, and delivery is fast as well! Plug and play type of audio interface that is very well worth it's cost for starters, and also can be connected to a Desktop or Laptop to interface with things you know you need to. A definite good buy.

I was having issues with my gen 2-2i4 after upgrading my pc hardware and OS to windows 11. It would randomly and frequently stop working during studio workflow and gaming. After a week of troubleshooting, I concluded it was that the USB was unable to provide adequate power to the 2i4 and it would stop working. Whether this was a windows issue, or a usb driver issue, I wasn't sure. But I was certain it was a power delivery issue via the usb. I am a fan of the focusrite scarlett line of AD interfaces for the values they provide for the home studio musician and the podcaster/streamer. I did some research to find that the 4i4 4th gen comes with an external power supply for the unit, so I decided to buy it to see if it corrected the issue. The long and short of it... it did. I've been using the 4i4 for a week and haven't had a single issue. I use this unit for tracking my audio ideas at home to present at my pro studio. For what this unit offers, it's an extremely good value for your dollar. The converters sound excellent. Apparently theyre the same converters used in the focusrite rednet line, which is actually crazy. The addition of the "air", "drive" and "auto" feature is excellent. The "safe" feature is kind of useless unless you plan on recording during a bombing of your town or city. I'm hoping to get another 7 years out of this AD converter like I did with the 2nd gen 2i4. Props to focusrite for providing such an excellent product at such a reasonable price.

価格帯から初心者向けという位置付けのようですが、全然そうは感じません。 まず、見た目ですが、他のメーカーは黒かシルバーですが、Focusriteは赤です。これは机の上に置いた時、なかなかの存在感があります。 肝心の音質は、モニタースピーカーにGENELECを使っていますが、低音から高音までしっかり鳴らしてくれますし、ヘッドフォンで聴き込んでも変な脚色なしで、ちゃんとモニター的に聴こえます。また、モニタースピーカーとヘッドフォンでそれぞれボリュームがあるのも便利です。 入力に関してもギターでもベースでもノイズはほとんどなく、なによりピークレベルを自動で調整してくれるので、アンプを接続している時と同じ力加減で演奏ができて大変便利です。 同価格帯の某M社のものが人気があり、評判も良いので最初はそちらを考えており、まさに購入しようとしたタイミングで本製品が発売されたこともあり、なかば勢いで購入した感はありましたが、今では見た目、操作感および音質ともにまったく後悔はなく、むしろ視聴した某M社や某S社より使い勝手も良く、すでに愛機となっています。当面の間は買い換える気はないです。 機能や性能に反して、価格は抑えられていますので、これからDTMをやろうとしている方や、聴き専の方にも満足できる商品と思いおすすめします。 ダイヤル周囲がピークメーターになっているところが特におしゃれです。
