Keeps racoons from draining our feeders nightly
For years have searched for an alternative way to stop the racoons from draining our feeders rather than bringing them inside nightly. Found this on another webiste and purchased using amazon prime. We have been using this for about 4 months and have replaced the battery once or twice but still cheaper than replacing the birdseed. It is mounted on a deck pole feeder and it works great and is not very visible!

Works well when it works.
The device works well but in Minnesota it runs through the batteries pretty quickly. When we had cold rain it stopped working so I don't always know if it is working or not. The squirrels do though, when they are in the feeders I know that the Tough Bird isn't working.

It works!
Works as advertised, but I need to change the battery about every three weeks or the squirrels catch on that they can access the feeder. The cone is somewhat difficult to assemble. One tip: remove the small screws holding the battery and replace with screws with a larger head or you will undoubtedly loose on or two in replacing the battery. I did.

It works!
I have several and have used them for years on my feeder poles. Just purchased another. Squirrels usually don't return after the first "jolt". (Entertaining to watch.) They sometimes turn off after a few days so need to check periodically. I was going to purchase another one as a replacement, but says no longer available...? Hopefully it's not discontinued.

Does the job but only for short time and eats batteries.
Does the job but only for a short time and eats batteries. Purchased it late July 23, 2020 and the unit is dead January 26, 2021. Other reviews list similar problems i.e. 9volt batteries in the winter needs replacement every 15 days or less. I could live with that since the device deters the squirrels so well, but when it flat out died about the time of the 6 month warranty period made me write this. This is a sole source product that does work but for the price it should last longer than the 6 month warranty period. I have another unit and hope it will last longer.

IT WORKS! Make sure to read and follow the instructions!
BEST entertainment for my hubby and me after losing 2 other bird feeders and pounds and pounds of bird feed. It's now a little over a week (very simple installation on our shepherd's hook) since we put it in our back yard. The birds are happy because they have seed throughout the day. I just watched another squirrel attempt to get around it and get zapped. For those who are concerned about hurting these ("adorable creatures" -Pffft! wait till they destroy YOUR $40-50 feeders) they were not harmed... They keep coming back to try and figure out how to outsmart it. There are currently 4 of them out there right now. It's 9 am as I write this. WHY didn't I find this product two bird feeders ago??? I will let the little bastids dig little "adorable" holes throughout my backyard and in the planters (for now), but the bird feeders are now for the birds! THANK YOU!

Pretty pricey for something that doesn't last long
While it worked it worked well. Took a video of a squirrel getting zapped and jumping off the feeder pole. Unfortunately after a few months they kept going off and I had to go outside to turn it back on. Finally it quit working all together. Lasted less than a year. Pretty pricey for something that doesn't last long.

So far awesome product. The packaging is a bit over done ...
I have only had this on the pole to myfeeder for 24 hrs and have no seen one squirrel on my feeder . They usually devastate the seeds daily . So far awesome product. The packaging is a bit over done and very hard to get apart.
