If your expecting a Garret carrot you may be disappointed, but after a beach detecting session and a day detecting on ploughed fields I feel I can give some initial impressions on this pin pointer.I bought it as an emergency replacement for my faulty Deteknix Xpointer, I needed something quickly and it had to be cheap!The device seems reasonably well made, a bit lighter than my Xpointer but solid enough.The instructions are a bit misleading and mention a double beep to adjust sensitivity whilst detecting. I found that this zeroing in feature functions by turning the pointer off whilst it's beeping in the hole near the target and then turning it back on again.Changing from vibrate to tone, to vibrate and tone, just involves holding the button down and cycling through to the mode you want. So 10 minutes of playing and you should be up to speed with how it works.My first trip out with it was beach detecting with my Equinox 800, the pointer worked well in wet and dry sand and located targets easily, right down to tiny shards of canslaw. I experienced no falsing at all and no interference with the detector. Testing it under water worked fine, although you are relient more on the vibration than the speaker to indicate proximity to a target.On ploughed fields it also worked well. Typical detection distances are 20 to 30mm for a coin, it also picked up tiny pieces of lead and .22 as air rifle pellets.The two weaknesses I've found so far are that it's slow to start up, I've pressed the on button, removed the pointer from its holster, knelt down, put it in the ground and there is still a short pause before it beeps to say it's ready! Also the volume of the beep isn't as loud as I'd like, especially if you are wearing full headphones.Apart from these two issues I'm reasonably happy with the GP Pointer 2. To try and find another water proof pointer you would probably have to pay over £100, so for now I'll keep this as my main pointer and see how it survives.Don't forget to use good quality 9v batteries in it!

Entweder war meine Ewartungshaltung zu hoch, das gerät defekt oder ich zu blöd zum bedienen. Ne Münze 5cm entfernt, kein Pieps. Einfach mal so übern Rasen gehalten, das Ding piept nur. Im Boden meines Garten ist aber aber kein Schrott und kein Goldschatz. Dann wieder über die Münze - hey es piept. Gleich nochmal - kein piep. Ich habe eher das Gefühl es ist ein Zufallsgenerator und kein portabler Gold Hunter.

Bon produit, Détection minimum 10 Cm sur sol argileux , son et/ou vibration et lampe , prévoir une pile de 9V rechargeable !
