This was a book that I truly enjoyed. With its depiction of sisterly love and magical realms, this book took me to a fantastical world where anything was possible. Reading Tashan Mehta's 'Mad Sisters of Esi' was a transporting journey into a mesmerizing realm of fantasy that unexpectedly resonated with real-life elements. What captivated me most were the subtle yet impactful themes such as sisterhood, trust, faith, courage, and self-discovery woven seamlessly into the fantastical narrative. Mehta's distinct approach to expressing these themes within the parable was truly unique, infusing the prose with an entirely different flavour that added depth to the story. Some relationships are chosen by our hearts. I may never forget Wisa, Magali and Jinn. I was amazed at the author's imagination and power of fantasy world-building. Each character and creature introduced within the story held a brilliance of its own. For instance, the portrayal of a purple whale singing in the black sea was exceptionally commendable, further enhancing the world filled with fables and dreams that held profound, captivating power. The allure of the book was not limited to the enchanting narrative; the super attractive cover and intriguing synopsis alone are enough to pique anyone's curiosity.

I loved loved loved it. Sweeping, imaginative beyond compare and so enriching. I bought it in a bookstore because I pink whale caught my attention. I didn't think I'd get swept away. It's beautiful and insightful and speaks to the reader. My new favorite.

Mad Sisters of Esi has one of the most elaborate and vivid world building which is the highlight for me in the book. The entire aura of the island with shapeshifting powers and the mystical beings is fantastic. I love how the story flows, with short chapters and beautiful descriptions which will certainly make you fall in love with the writing style. So much was happening in the story simultaneously yet it left me yearning for more. I certainly had a blast reading about the mad sisters, the dreamy & mythical story-setting and the adventures encompassed beautifully.
