The Kasa Matter Smart Light Switch has been rock-solid since day one. I’ve installed several throughout the house, and not a single one has failed me yet. I bought one, installed it in a box that has three switches, two of which are 3-way, so there were many wires. I had to 'dig' to find the neutral, but found it (four wires in one wire nut) and added the Kasa Matter neutral without any problem. Once installed, I proceeded to connect it to Alexa. I was able to scan the code with my i-Phone and after getting the Kasa App, everything went along easily. Then I ordered two more Kasa switches. The second and third ones were easier to install as they were in boxes with just two switches, so not as many wires. I could not scan the codes for the last two, so I simply entered the numeric code (11 numbers) that is under the code and these worked fine. I really like how they work and being able to turn lights on and off without having to go to the actual switch. BTW, the third one is connected to a ceiling fan and it work just fine also. Very happy.

I've been watching smart switch technology for years. It was worth the wait. Easy to install. Easy to use software. If I had to say there was one minor letdown, it was the wall plates. I found that unless the electrical box / switch was installed perfectly it was tough to get a good flush to the wall fit. I replaced the Kasa covers with some from ENERLITES. Perfect color match. On the second pack the box was not plastic wrapped, was dirty, and only had a clear bit of tape holding the box closed. Everything inside looked fine / new. After installing it turns out the Matter switches (HS205) had been swapped out with the non-Matter version of the switches. I confirmed the order and Amazon was the seller and not another 3rd party. Not sure how that happened. Check the model numbers before installing and save yourself some time. Kudos to amazon for the quick shipping and returns. Replacements were here the next day (already installed) and the wrong switches are being returned.

I am using this switch to control a couple of outdoor outlets for Christmas lights, and it has been working well! The wiring is straight forward with clear instructions. The setup using the Kasa app, and scheduling the on/off times was easy. I have experience with a couple of off brand smart switches / outlets in the past, and have had issues with the software, with one of the brands going out of business, and I lost support of the software rendering them useless. I decided to go with a name brand like TP-Link and so far so good.

I have two that have been in operation for about 72 hours. The wall switches control the garage and pantry lights, as I got tired of reminding people to turn those lights off when not in use. They now shut off automatically after five minutes on and two minutes on, respectively. The aggravation avoided is well worth the cost. I did not know the switches also have a delayed shutoff feature that could come in handy for some (turning off the light does not immediately take effect, so you have time to leave the area with the light still on). They were relatively easy to install and are connected to both the Kasa app and our Echo Show (Alexa). For those who experience Alexa not finding the wall switches, I suggest unlinking and then relinking the Kasa app to Alexa. I needed to do it for the first switch, but then the second switch imported to Alexa flawlessly.

Easy to install and setup. Great feature if on off at sunset +/- a few minutes - so that you can have them come on a "little" before and after sunset/sunrise. Originally purchased for Christmas lights. Have Porch/Garage lights come on at 11:30 PM - exact time that Christmas and Govee lights went off. Easy setup and easy to program. Override (turn on and off) is really easy.

Great switch with Matter. Affordable price for 3 Matter switches. Installation is easy, reliability and responsiveness either in HomeKit or Kasa app are great too. Two things that could be improved: 1) In HomeKit device can only be displayed as a light. Other brands let you choose between, fan, light, outlet or switch. 2) In the Kasa app there is only the following option; The LED on the switch only turns On when switch is Off and turns Off when switch is On. Other brands have also the option to turn On the LED when its ON and turn Off when its Off. Pretty sure that these two things can be improved in a future firmware update. Other than that great switch.

Easy to install works great

These switches work well, they’re responsive, they’re easy to setup and being matter devices, they work with almost every ecosystem. (there are some minor compatibility issues with Google home and Amazon Alexa but it’s more to do with how these platforms poorly handle matter support) I only have two minor issues with these switches. 1. They don’t feel that great. When you press them, the button feels super mushy and there are definitely going to be times where you think you’ve pressed it, but it doesn’t recognize it. 2. Their Wi-Fi connection isn’t that great, if there are more than a few rooms away from your router, or you have thicker walls, they’re going to constantly disconnect.
