CULT MASTERPIECE
Hey Folks,Hold up! NO! The answer is NO! This is not the 3-star flaccid flop misguided viewers are making it out to be. This is a summer gore-fare flick that could not have been done better and does exactly what it says on the tin. And not only does it do that, it does it with great finesse! There are plenty of subtle homages to JAWS, the original summer-flick afraid-to-go-into-the-water masterwork, including a great cameo in the opening scene staring Richard Dreyfus, of original JAWS fame, sitting there in a fishing boat and singing the same song he sang in the boat they tried to catch the shark with in the original JAWS. The main actress, Elizabeth Shue, was even in Jaws 3, and appears here as the town Sheriff in top form. But aside from all this, the film itself has everything this kind of film is supposed to have, beautiful women, nudity, young teens gone wild, a threat in the water during Spring Break when all the kids are flooding the town and going wild, and blood and gore like you've never seen it before. Seriously, some of it tops the worst films like SAW and HOSTEL and even Final Destination can throw at you and does it with better style and wicked humor. It is so over the top it becomes funny again.Hell, guys, it even has a cameo from Christopher Loyd in it! Of Back to the Future Fame! Seriously, don't miss out because of a misguided audience who went to see a film with stupid pretenses. Who goes to this kind of film not knowing what they're gonna get and wanting it? This is a great summer-sea nudity gore-fest exploitation-movie and does it better than anything before, since the original JAWS rip-offs in all their many manifestations. Make no mistake, this is an exploitation film, but it does it the way Tarantino and Rodriguez do exploitation: knowingly and with a wink to the audience.Don't miss this fun little popcorn-throwing, soda-sipping masterpiece.Mark my words: This film will be recognized as a Cult Classic in the years to come.P.S. The 3d is post-processed and not incredible, but all it does is add to the fun and does it well. Best to see it twice, both ways!!! It's that much fun!

Bite Hard
Probably 8 out of 10 for this remake of Piranha but as 5 stars means I Love It on amazon then that what I'll give it.I have only watched in the 2D so far as I currently don't have a £D set up and wasn't in the mood to watch the Anaglyph 3D version but I will one day, just for that Old Skool horror film viewing experience.I did love this film. I really enjoyed it. It was now way as cheesy as I thought it was going to be. There is actually quite a plausible story being told. So it wasn't just that the killer Piranha's suddenly appeared.I loved the opening sequence. It took me a second to realise who was fishing in his little boat on a lake, until I realised what he was singing. Nice little touch but if no other review spoil it and you don't already know. I'll leave it for you to find out and see if you get the connection to another well know killer "Fish" movie. There is a lot of blood and some really really gory SFX in the film. In the 2D version the colour pallet is not quite the same as who it would be when viewed in 3D. With Passive or Active 3D glasses on the colours should look a little more normal which should make the blood look a little more real where as when you view it in 2D the blood looks a little orange due to the colour treatment of the film.Still as I said the gore is great. There's a good mixture of really cool gore and some cheesy bits for the fans who like their horror films on the cheesy side.I'm not saying the film should be taken seriously, of course. Just the story might be better than you first think, if you have seen the trailer. The sound was pretty good and if you've read any of my other reviews, you'll know I'm well into my sound. The cast in the movie is pretty well put together in my opinion. I think they got the right people for the right roles too.So if you are just getting in to horror films and want to watch something gory but not necessarily scary then I recommend this remake of a classic 70s Horror. If you want real sophisticated horror, this isn't quite it.None the less, it's great fun and the second one "Piranha 3DD carries on the craziness and ups the cheesiness too.

teen gore flick
an age old genre redone but this time in 3d, still cant improve this average fare even when done in poor 3d, there are parts where the 3d is pretty acceptable but for the most part its pretty run of the mill.the lads will like it as it has plenty of female appendage on display, both covered and uncovered.if you want a film in 3d with people getting killed by sea creatures then my advice is go for shark night 3d, why?, well the 3d is first class real depth and crystal clear (on my panasonic 3dtv, was not so good on my lg 3dtv) plot is similarly poor like piranha's story but the 3d is what makes shark night worth watching.as with most films they have left it wide open for a sequel but im not holding my breath on that one.so, the truth about this filmaverage storypoor 3dplenty of flesh on display
