Had a much older FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer Machine that wasn’t working properly anymore. Bought this new one and it’s a great machine. It works much better and faster than the previous one. We use the FoodSaver a lot and it vacuums and seals perfectly. Some items such as meats are still perfect to consume after 1 1/2 years

Just received unit and sealed up some thick steaks for the freezer. BUT, initial showstopping problem was getting the lid to close enough that the function lever would move to the OPERATE position. I was pressing down on the lid crazy hard, but no success. This issue isn't covered in the included booklet, and AI wasn't helpful. But once I got the seals sorted out (below), using the unit is easy, automatic and fast. 4/5 rating is given because of the issue, but would have gone to 0/5 had I needed to send it back. The vacuum pump is rather noisy... not something you'd want to use when people are sleeping in the house, but it only runs a short time when sealing. Online videos suggested the foam rubber seals (that clamp the bags) were causing the problem, so that's what I focused on. These gasket seals pull out easily, and I discovered there was a definite "muffin top" around the top edge of the seals which I figured were preventing them from pushing down into their channel. SO, I flipped them over to push the muffin edge into the channel, leaving a smooth edge facing up. That worked... with some pressure I could get the lid closed enough to get the lever into the OPERATE position. I'm pressing the lid harder than I'd like, and hoping this pressure will go down in time. It's possible to purchase new gasket seals, but that seems silly for a factory-new unit. My feedback to the factory might be to leave the seals out for the buyer to install, so the seals don't develop this muffin-top failure mode. I was very close to sending the unit back, and suspect I'd have the same problem with another unit. I bought a box of the quart bags, and suspect those will be primarily what I'm using. The unit comes with a roll of wide-bag material that fits inside the unit, which must be sealed on both ends but offers much larger storage volumes.

The best household FoodSaver on the market. Had one for 5 years, used almost daily when it finally didn't work quite as it used to. Ordered a different brand same price, super disappointing need a PhD in vacuum seal, need a PhD in vavuum sealing . I ordered another brand , what a joke that was, so gave both away after trying it out. Ordered the same FoodSaver I used to have which is identical to this item being reviewed. It arrived with a small defect, the cutter was malfunctioning I asked for a replacement of the machine which arrived 2 days later and returned the defective one. It work perfect, just the way I was used to with the old one. Sadly, I wasted $200 only to find out l should have stuck with FoodSaver brand all along.

Very sturty and versatile. Makes less noise than previous models. It seals in no time and provides status lights. Easy to clean and maintain.

Once again I have learned the lesson - "Less expensive doesn't always mean a deal". My previous FoodSaver after over 10 years final had to be replaced. I tried two different bands ( which shall remain nameless) thinking I'd save a few dollars. Although the results were not disastrous they were very disappointing. Not nearly as much suction power and sealing was hit or miss. The point is to have NO air in the final product right? Needless to say I am very happy with this sealer. Quick and easy - I had a "pile" of pork chops from Sam's that I had vac'd and sealed in 20 minutes. Plus is tucks away neatly n my pantry.

Wow what a great product. Works exactly as described. It is totally taking care of any freezer burn. Frozen Fresh vegtables taste store fresh. Very happy
