Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (4th Gen) USB Audio Interface and Waves Musicians 2 Bundle

It's been perfect for my home recording DAW, and the preamp is very nice. Comes with some plug-in software that I couldnt care less about but no matter, the interface is good

It's well made with an Apple-quality formed metal chassis and smooth pots with circular LED volume indicators surrounding the shaft of the pot. There's nothing cheap about it. Looks like it belongs in a studio. Never owned one of these before and just exploring. The software has a variety of modeled amps with very clean sound. And the nasty sound is super clean too. I'm happy.

What is not to love? It is great, and priced fairly.

The entire purpose of this device was to be able to directly monitor the vocals without it going through the PC first. Quite simply this device does not do this - you can push the "direct" button all you want, you can install the software and turn it on in the control 2 software... and still it will not do this. After over a week writing back and forth with tech support I still am no closer to being able to use this device for the intended purpose.Oddly enough, it works as a mic input and works as a sound output. Yay. I already have both of those built into my PC (as just about every PC build has that functionality built in). But the whole point of this is monitoring ... which is what this device won't do.

Excellent interface for the novice. I was up and running in under 30 minutes.

Bought this to process the output to an FM transmitter at a drive-in movie theater. It does what I need it to do, which is to provide a clean and balanced analog output without the ground hum that plagues the unbalanced analog output of almost all onboard computer audio cards. Power, audio data, and control all going through a single USB-C connection makes setup easier. I think it's a bit overpriced for what it is, but the USBPre is no longer available and it was the only alternative I could find.
