Required Reading for Every Cancer Patient (And Their Loved Ones)
This book is absolutely vital to cancer patients or anyone who has a loved one with cancer, especially those who have just received the news, "you have cancer". In fact, it should be required reading for cancer patients and part of their treatment path.Dr. Stegall is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about cancer and treating it using integrative oncology: which is the best of both conventional methods mixed with alternative treatments. My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in the Summer of 2016, which sent our marriage, family, and lives into a crazy tailspin for over two years. Having this book then would have helped us better navigate the overwhelming search results of Google, the sheer amount of complex terms and concepts, the stress of too many family opinions, and the daunting decisions we had to make about life and death options. The more I learn about integrative oncology, the more it makes so much sense. Dr. Stegall's historical coverage of cancer and treatment mixed with his clear and simple communication of often complex topics and concepts makes this book accessible to the average patient. Having lost his own grandmother to cancer positions him to be more than an expert in his field due to his training, but a friend and a voice that I trust. This book has been a game changer in not only how we view and understand cancer but how we have decided to treat my wife's breast cancer moving forward. I will share this book and integrative oncology with everyone I meet who has cancer and is looking for hope, clarity, and a path that leads towards healing.

Good info, a bit heavy on religion
I liked and agreed with much of what Dr. Stegall said in this book. He does go a bit overboard on the religious side of things, presuming everyone is christian and not any other faith, which gets irksome but I skimmed those parts. I also wish that his practice would see all patients, not just those who need chemo. I was referred to him by a respected doctor but he will only see patients if they need chemo, which as a turnoff. Overall, though, I liked the nutrition points he brought up in this book.

Some Good Info but . . .
Easy to read, good info and well laid out. Found myself wishing there was a subject/topic index as I wanted to find some particular subjects -- can look through the chapter headings and then hunt that way but author should simply pay someone to create a detailed subject/topic index for the book. Since it was written in 2023 I had also hoped for more discussion of fenbendazole (vs. mebendazole) and ivm as those are being used integratively off label by many people.
