Brother makes great printers
I absolutely LOVE this brother printer. My son, who is a computer geek, encouraged me to get a Brother L2350 which uses a cartridge for ink. I got so fed up with the expensive ink for other manufacturers printers. We print about 10 to 15 pages per day and the cartridge in the 2350 lasted over one year. That prompted me to look at a color printer for personal/business use and the 3720 is spot on. Don't expect to get great color piectures fromt this printer, it was not designed for this; graphics for documents and great. There are four cartridges which should last a year or so and the printer is much more reliable and funtional. Money well spent.

Not sure why I waited so long
This is for my personal home use. I was tired of buying inkjet cartridges and having lower quality printing. This is, by far, the nicest printer I have ever had at the house. It is quiet, and the print quality is great. The scanning feature also works great and was easy to figure out.

Affordable and reliable
Casual home user/homeschooling projects. We had a black and white printer but just needed the option for color for certain projects. This works well, prints good enough quality for our use. Wireless connection works without problems. It seems to take a little bit to fire up and get going when first printing but overall the print speed is acceptable and does not affect my opinion. Haven't tried generic cartridges yet as the starter cartridges are still going well.

Rejects Perfectly Good Toner - No Duplex Scanning - Bad Buy All Around
This printer will refuse to work if it believes you have exhausted any of the four toner cartridges even if the toner still has life in it. I cannot find anything online about how to reset a toner cartridge count to bypass this, so I am forced to buy a new toner cartridge even if the one I have is working just fine. There is no reason for this to happen except for Brother to screw its users and force them to buy more toner cartridges than they really need. Super disappointing--after owning a much older Brother printer that didn't have this issue, I didn't expect Brother to do this. It seems Brother has decided to stick it to its customers. I guess I'll be looking for a different brand. Also, if you use this for any significant amount of scanning, know that it only scans one side of the page unless you physically put documents on the scan table. So, if you plan to scan anything, especially mail, don't get this printer.

Loving this printer for my Linux system
Bought in March 2024. Writing review in December 2024. I regularly need color copy for my job that won't run if it gets wet out at a job site. After reading a lot about printers on Linux forums, I decided to go with the Brother brand. This thing is a workhorse. I've only had 1 jam since I bought it and it was in the summer months when the paper may have been a bit humid. Other than that, no issues. It prints way faster than deskjet type printers and like I said doesn't run if the page gets wet like deskjet printouts do. I use it with my self-built Linux system. Primary use is color printing. Also do color copying. Haven't used the other features yet. Wifi works fine. Prints from phone or tablet (apple and android) as easily as from desktop PC. Pretty easy to set up on Linux for my needs. We are work-from-home here and my boss likes it so much that he also bought one for his house after being a deskjet user for years. Added bonus, we enjoy doing puzzles. Some puzzles do not come with the poster, so I take a photo and print it on the color printer. Comes out nice and crisp. Not as bright or well defined as the glossy artwork on the puzzle boxes since I'm using plain copier paper. I haven't tried getting any kind of glossy paper to see if that makes a difference. I may have to source some glossy paper and try that out next. Works well with generic cartridges which is a plus. Read reviews on those before buying though, just in case any particular brand has issues. Get the XL version, more pages per cartridge.

Super easy to connect and print...
Amazingly easy printer to set up.I'm a geek so it was easy for me.But compared to my HP Office jet it was a breeze.I highly recommend it.Lazer printers are a lot better for you anyway. It prints, copy and scans like a champ its big and heavy, but well made!.I may get rid of my HP Printers, they are a pain in the neck to set up!

Perfect for University Students
No regrets buying this printer. As a university student, I find that printing notes helps me focus way better than digital note-taking. The scan and copy features are incredibly useful for assignments and textbooks, and the color printing is essential when I need to print graphs, diagrams, or highlighted materials. The auto duplex saves paper, and the wireless connectivity makes printing from anywhere in my room easy. Laser printing means the toner lasts much longer than inkjet cartridges, which is great for a student budget. If you're in university and want to improve your study workflow, this is a solid investment. Highly recommended.

I purchased this printer to replace two old tired monochrome laser printers built by "another company". I have sporadic printing needs, including colour, and have found that ink jets tend to have problems when they aren't used regularly. My work computers run Ubuntu Linux and getting the printer up and running with them was simple, including both printing and scanning. The Brother drivers that are automatically loaded in Ubuntu 24.04 (latest version) work without a hitch. No problems with the wifi connection either. I really appreciate the printer managing its firmware updates on its own, so that I don't have to hunt them down - the control panel just indicates when an update is ready to install. The print quality seems great. I haven't tried printing on glossy paper, but certainly the plain paper quality is more than fine. The sheet feeder on the document scanner works without a hitch. In sum, I'm super happy to have made the decision to acquire this printer. Highly recommended, and I would buy another.

Great unit and I'm definitely a convert from HP to Brother now. Difference between next model up and thus one is this unit does not support duplex scanning (2 sided scanning) and does 19 pages per min compared to the 31 pages the next model up does for $299 more. Good buy for $499.

Prints fine, scans well but its an ink hog. Bought it to save on ink from an ink jet does not do that maybe even more expensive. Especially as it seems designed to cost you on the ink. Won't work with most other brands of ink and the cartridges won't even be close to empty but that cartridge has reached its alloted amount of printing so it will not work past a certain prescribed number of pages. Designed to cost a lot on the toner.

Great all in one machine! I use the scanner/printer functions the most and they're great! Wi-Fi setup was a breeze - the first and only time I've been able to say that about a printer!
