Well designed easy install, perfect to program. Easily rekeyed to my house key. Long battery life, flawless performance with a solid keypad.

The product functions as expected and presents a satisfactory aesthetic with no observed operational issues. While some difficulties were encountered during installation, these were attributed to user error. The product's overall construction and performance are commendable. An enhanced feature set, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity, would elevate the product to an even higher standard.

Bought these for my college rental houses. Easy to install, and problem free for renters. No apps or WiFi connections, just a good coded lock with real key backup. I give my renters and property manager a physical key and the directions to set a numeric code, easy. Auto lock feature is nice, lets them set a delay to auto lock (or turn it off if they want). When I get new tentants I just clear out the codes and rekey, probably takes 5min.

This lock does not have all the bells and whisles like the smart locks but it makes up for it in battery life. I like the simple look and the keypad funtions. The installation was simple and i was able to rekey it. Overall im satisfied with this purchase.

First of all, the lock looks great, especially the modern rectangular design in matte black. Second, the installation was a breeze; it took less than 30 minutes. At first, I thought the lock was malfunctioning, because the deadbolt would not close properly and would keep retracting and extending several times and make noise and the blinking red light would come on, and the door would still be unlocked. I was almost about to return the lock but, after playing around with the strike plate and taking some more measurements, it turned out the hole in the door frame wasn't deep enough to allow the deadbolt to extend all the way (one inch) into the wall. Once I took a chisel into the hole and scraped out some more wood, the deadbolt started working perfectly and also smoothly! I've only had the lock for a few days so I cannot say anything about battery life or longevity but, so far, so good.

The 1 star rating has nothing to do with the quality or functionality of the product. My intent is to bring attention to how Amazon has made an habit of listing items as "new" yet sending an item that has obviously been used. This item arrived in a box that was a little beaten up and and unsealed. The item (Kwikset door lock) was in great condition but it was VERY apparent the item had been used and returned. Only the screws appeared to be newly added to the box. To be clear the lock works perfectly and all the necessary parts were included. I'm still quite miffed that Amazon would list an item as new and it NOT be in fact new. Regarding the lock itself....its a great lock. Please be aware that it does not work with the kwikset app (the reason I think it was returned) and that it's one inherent flaw is that it has no illumination to show you your first button press if you are in the dark, so you may need to enter the wrong code initially in order to see the illuminated numbers and enter the correct code. Other than that it was very quick easy to install. I installed mine in about 20 mins.(I do have prior -amateur- experience installing locks) and so all of the "prep" work like mortises and boring was already done. The instructions were plain and easy to follow. I DO recommend this lock but I think it would serve people better as a backdoor or interior garage door lock. For a front/main door I would suggest you shell out a little more money and get the wifi/app compatible version. Sorry if my 1-star rating is misleading or damaging to the brand but I'm hoping people will read this and be aware of Amazon and it's unscrupulous practices.

I had this installed for about 3 months. So far it's been great. I've had to replace two other automatic door locks because of the sun and rain. They were buttons. I'm hoping this one will last longer, as it is a flat screen. I also got a cover for it from etsy. I like that you don't have to push an unlock button after the code. I didn't realize that would e important, lol. Installing it was pretty easy, just some screws. I had a bit of trouble putting in the code, but that was Mom brain, I think..lol ..got there in the end. So far, so good!
