Excellent product if you get educated in advance
I bought this to run a 2HP motor on a Bridgeport copy that is 3 phase. Like others say, the manual has some errors. It shows on the wiring page to hook up the single phase power to R and T. It didn't work that way. Hook it up to R and S. The best advice I can give is that before you order it spend some time on YouTube to see where others have struggled or succeeded . Do a search for "Huanyang GT" There you will find several videos including "VFD GT series operation" I took my laptop to the shop and followed it step by step. It ran perfectly with no issues at all and I have never wired a VFD. Watching videos will get you familiar with the functions. Great bargain for the money if you have some electrical skills! You will need to wire in a disconnect and likely low voltage control wiring. I went through the extra effort to install it in a enclosure. EDIT: After a successful install, I bought another larger unit for my 5hp Lathe. More challenging to install but well worth the effort. The amount of electrical hardware you get to remove is staggering! My personal opinion is to stay away from "Autotune" and just enter your basic motor parameters and HZ. Start slowly. As you learn the programming language things will start to click and make sense. Managed to get everything programmed exactly how I wanted it including the mechanical brake. Great product for the money. Patience.....required for this project but I couldn't be happier with the results!

Works perfectly once setup correctly.
I purchased this VFD to connect my Bridgeport Mill to a 220V single phase house supply line. Overall, the unit works exactly as it is supposed to. It is almost like turning your 3-phase AC motor into a DC motor with all of the variability and control, but without losing the torque. I was able to keep the start up and run down times at five seconds to hopefully put a little less wear on the machine. Basically giving it a nice soft start and stop instead of a quick hard jolt. It has adjustments and parameters for almost anything you can think of, and for several things you will have no idea what are for. That is perhaps my only complaint. It comes with a large manual that details all of the options, but not everything is fully explained. It would be nice if they included a quick setup guide along with the full detailed manual. Regardless, I am pleased with the unit and likely going to get a second one to convert my vertical bandsaw and a third for the lathe.

It does what is says
I installed this VFD on my bBridgeport Series 1 knee mill (1HP). I have only tested this out briefly as of yet, I did let it run overnight at a slow speed and it was working in the morning. Setting up the parameters was not very difficult, the seller has good youtube videos to show you how and it seems to work as it should. Now i did have one minor issue with the keypad button decal peeling off, I contacted mfg/seller regarding this, they were very responsive and rectified the problem quickly. I cannot comment on the longevity or reliability yet, since I haven't actually made chips with it yet. But if you are a hobbiest like me and need an affordable VFD I would not hesitate buying one again. UPDATE: May 2021. Still working good. Still happy with it. However, I am using the display remotely with the longer ribbon cable. Led digits flicker randomly in cold weather. ~ Under 50F.

Works fine as a normal inverter. Couldn't get vector control to work with my 400Hz spindle motor
Bought this to drive a 400Hz 2.2kW spindle motor for my CNC router. Auto detect of motor parameters ran without error, but took forever and apparently didn't result in the right values. The motor just buzzes and twitches once when attempting to run in vector mode. Did some digging online and found that this combination is hard to get to work and I may need to do tricks like running the calibration with scaled motor ratings. After some fiddling, I decided it was easier to just use this in V/F mode, effectively making it the same as the non GT version of the inverter. Works fine in this mode, but was really hoping to get vector mode working.

Decent for the $
Overall happy with the VFD. The manual is very hard to understand but there are plenty of videos online for help. After you start to understand how the VFD works the manual can be figured out for the most part. I have approximately 10 hours of run time so far and it’s working flawlessly. I haven’t had time to even fully tune it to my motor yet (2.2kw 3 phase mill spindle motor) and I’m happy!

Good product, good price, fast shipping
I bought the 2.2 kW drive. I feel it was a good value. It allowed me to install 3-phase mill in my single-phase shop. I easily programmed a steady-state 60 hertz and quick ramp times. I did e-mail the company with an initial question about the power-in connections. The wiring diagram was incorrect. My e-mail must have been lost in the ether, because I never did get an answer from the company. A quick You Tube search answered my question and I moved ahead.. Additional enclosures may be required, depending on the installation environment.

Buy this one. The others are knockoffs.
I bought a cheaper version from another company and it didn’t work...had to return. Did some research and this one was highly rated. Ordered and It shipped next day From a USA location. Customer service was really good and it is Now driving my shop size lathe perfectly. It even tapped into my forward reverse switches. Couldn’t be happier, just make sure your motor is 3 phase.

False Advertising, Hidden instructions.
Product is misrepresented. It will not work with the horsepower motor as advertised. I found out too late to return it, my electrician read the brochure and it tells you to buy the next larger size. Not I'm out the money with a useless item. False advertising.
