This jacket isn't the thickest welding jacket I have ever seen, but for the price it is a very good value. It easily keeps slag off my front. It's open in the back like a lot of welding jackets. I would recommend it to anyone.

I use this when plasma cutting. I used to wear a leather apron and a long-sleeved shirt, but had some molten metal spatter burning holes through my shirt. This really covers you up and provides protection. It's heavy, and I found the leather to be somewhat stiff, but that's to be expected. I softened it up a bit by pounding it with a hammer. I expect that over time it will naturally soften more. For the record, I'm 5'9" and wear a size 42. This fits appropriately. I fasten the Velcro neck ring when wearing it. There are two elastic belt connectors in the back. I haven't figured out how I'm supposed to reach back there to fasten and unfasten them other than by pre-fastening them and then slipping this whole thing over my head like a shirt, so I don't bother with them and the thing fits and works fine anyway.

Great product. I’m 250lbs and this fit me fine. Good quality leather and solidly built. It does get hot when you wear it, so I expect I’ll have to have it dry-cleaned once it starts getting funky. :-)

This was just what I was looking for. I typically wear size large clothes and this fits, but not a lot of extra room. As others have pointed out, the smell (like a bag of dog's rawhide bones) is a little much at first but slowly fades.
