Ordered this as a Valentine’s Day gift for our 3 year old. He loves the arcade claw machines and always begs to play when we see one out and about! He proudly proclaims his favorite color is pink, so thought this would be perfect! It’s a cute little thing, works well enough that it’s kept him entertained. Definitely takes a little bit of skill to get the prizes out, he’s figured out that “mommy can do it faster” and now asks for my help. I’d say 5-6yo maybe could do it easily independently. So far we’ve only used it with the little stuffies that it comes with, but I imagine you could put other small objects in it as well. Definitely easier to use with only a few things inside at a time, otherwise the claw/chain gets stuck on the pile of items while you’re trying to move it around. Must be plugged in to function, comes with a little USB cable. Music is loud, but volume does adjust slightly and can be completely turned off (mom’s preference lol). Overall not sure how long it will last, but it’s already been worth it for how much fun and excitement he’s had since getting it! My husband and I have even had a few turns of our own!

If I could give this a zero stars I would. I ordered this for my granddaughter's birthday.And when I got the first one , it was broken off on the end of it like the pieces of broken plastic weren't even in the box , so I think it was a return that I got originally . Needless to say, it was a birthday present and it was late because I had to put a request to send the original one back because it was broken and wait for the second 1 to get here.Which is the one i'm reviewing now. The Claw does not open up. We've been trying. To get this thing to open up for the past twenty two minutes. Triy explaining that to a child with autism , who doesn't understand that quality is sometimes lacking. So birthday gift was a flop.. once then twice! Definitely not worth the time waiting or money. I am returning both.

The music gets a little annoying after a bit. You can make it quieter and turn the music off even but you will have the set that each time you turn it on. The left control is a little wonky with how you have to rotate it, they could have made a horizontal control similar to the one on the right. Grip strength is OK. I wish this was a little taller since it does not take much to overfill it and then the claw has a tough time working
