small, cheap lowgrade r/c car, but the detail is fantastic
This is a small r/c car (about 1/16 scale). The only good thing about this r/c is the attention to detail to the actual Tesla roadster. Basically, it LOOKS good.As for the negatives, this r/c is very cheaply-made with lowgrade quality. I mean: very cheap quality. I would not pay more than $30 for this.

SHORT-CIRCUITED!!
Well,I ordered the Tesla roadster and when it arrived I opened the package and there was this cute red roadster it was listed as 1/16 scale, but it was more like 1/24 scale to me.It had a decentbodt on it and the unit looked very good. Then I installed batteries and got the unit charged up with full power, When activated the throttle it zoomed like snail with the headlites very dim and making it turn was very sluggish, All in all I think whoever is using Tesla's name should be electrcuted because his name meant electricity and that is power,as should the car should have not lack of it. Or even a self restoring energy concept maybe even a capacitor to amp up the units power. Tesla would cry if he had lived to see this car model named after him. The product did not give what size electric motor it had in it.

Fun R/C but...
I just wanted to quote the following from the package: WARNING: CONTAINS LEAD. MAY BE HARMFUL IF EATEN OR CHEWED. MAY GENERATE DUST CONTAINING LEAD.It is unclear which part of the toy contains lead. Regardlessly, this should be a cause of great concern if you have children living with you. I do appreciate this information being disclosed. Still, I have to wonder why it is **necessary** to use lead in a child's toy.Otherwise, the R/C is fun to play with and tolerate pebbles and bumps on our drive way.

The Ultimate Collectible model car
I purchased this model car because I cannot afford the real thing. It will join my other car models (BMW Z3 and 1957 Ford T-Bird)and will stay in the box until I need to sell it.

Not for younger drivers!
My 8 year old daughter chose this as the vehicle of choice for Iron Man to start dating Polly Pocket. They had a great time in the speedy red car until that fateful moment when they accidentally drove off the deck.It was only the first day of use and total delight over the car quickly changed to despair. The car doesn't work right anymore. Even with new batteries the charge seems to fade away within about 10 seconds and the car loses power. Something went badly wrong went it fell about 4 feet off the deck into the dirt. It's probably not the best car for a beginning driver though the speed makes it much more fun than the kiddie cars. The other thing, am I asking too much to think it should be built well enough to survive a 4 foot fall? Seriously, We've never had one of these in our house before but it seems like it ought to be a little more durable. If the car had survived the first day of use I'd be happy to give it 5 stars but I really think it should be built with a little durability if it's a car that says it's for an 8 year old.

poor quality
I bot two of the cars to race with my 19 year old son but one car's steering did not work correctly from the beginning (would not steer to the left) and the other car's battery died after about 5 minutes.Called manufacture as suggested on the instructions and they told me to return the cars. Too bad, it would have been fun but the product is not worth it. I suggest not buying these.

Received directly from Elon Musk at Tesla, Inc...
On the waiting list for a (full scale) Tesla, I recently received my Tesla RC Roadster straight from Elon; if having the real thing is just half as fun as having this 1:16 RC Model, then all is well worth the wait. Hot red, she charges with less than one kWHr ( a 9 volt battery, actually), offers 100 percent wrist torque, goes from Zero to 60 feet in seconds, and has a range of hundreds of yards on a single charge. Drop the Plastic Tailpipe. Enjoy.

Poor design - do not buy
I purchased this as a gift for Christmas and upon the gift being opened was disapointed with the quality of the driving experience. The controls seem to be all the way on (very fast) or off. Changing direction is difficult. There are much better RC cars out there. On the plus side - it is a nice looking model. The driving experience is a let down.
