The Emperor of Nihon-Ja: Book Ten (Ranger's Apprentice) Paperback – March 20, 2012

The book was simply enjoyable. The imagery and character development in the book was wonderful. The author is expanding the character's world from Arulen and its neighbors to far away lands. I can find bits and pieces of several great books within this story told about a feudal Asian culture (Japan or Nihon-Ja) and the effort of its king to change it. Very well developed story, very well written. The ending made me "feel" for the characters, particularly Horace's parting from the Emperor. Would hope that there will be other similar adventures for Horace, Will and the others. Perhaps the best single volume of the series so far.

John Flanagan and the rangers apprentice series are why I love reading even to this day. This whole series is fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone.

My 13 year old daughter and I love these books! They have great stories, and little things that we can both talk about and have inside jokes with.

This one i really enjoyed reading. own all but one of ranger series and my thiry year old son couldn't put them down. He was hard pressed waiting for the next to arrive in mail. since i am older live in trailer when done sent them tomy great nephew. he called to thank me for such awesome books and he can't wait for las. have brother hood on pre order comes out about my sixyth birthday. almost to long to wait. had it ordered before my son started bugging me to pre order. he took awhile to realize when i said no to him it was already ordered. Now a younger girl at work borrows from me before i send to my nephew. so ninetteen year old thirty yearold and sixty year old and twenty year old can't get enough.

Great story for kids

Recommend this series and this book for those who like action and adventure and humor. Also recommend for the reluctant reader. These hard to put down books have been read by all 3 of my boys and myself. This book started a little slow, but by mid way you won't be able to put it down.My boys were between 10 and 12 when they started reading this series, I was a bit older.

I love these books. They are interesting for all ages. Helped my little brother begin to love reading.

This series has been enjoyed by 6 family members - highest praise for this writer.
