Absolutely amazing
Absolutely perfect, I had a stripped Allen bolt in my road bike crank, and i needed to replace my crank,so i was trying few methods and none of them worked till i got these extractors from IRWIN. they are actually great but you have to be patient and follow the instructions of drill size etc.

Excellent quality tool.
Used to extract a seized grade 10.9 bolt. These worked great. They bite in and grip straight away. The flutes stayed sharp even after a few attempts. This bolt was seized solid and I was using my full strength to get it moving.

Snapped instantly. Made of cheap steel
You're looking at these because you have some snapped bolts to extract. Don't bother as these snapped on me on their first use following the correct procedure with tap wrench etc. Made of cheap steel.

Snapped very easily
I use the EX3 sized extractor to remove a 5mm bolt. The extractor hammered into the drill hole nicely and and had good grip on the bolt shaft. I used a mini adjustable spanner to apply some torque, much less torque than I used to undo the neigbouring bolts. Anyway... snap, way too easliy. Not happy. Maybe I got a dud one???

Snapped on first attempt
Absolutely not fit for purpose. The positive reviews for this are all centred around removal of Boy Scout stuff. Brass bolts screws etc made of treacle. Give this set anything other than soft mild steel then it will shatter with potentially serious injury to the user. Move on. Find something else.

Life saver. Just make sure to drill a deep enough hole first, then use a hammer to hit the extractor in, so it’s stuck. Then it will grip and remove with a left turn of the drill.

This worked out really well. Good value compared to other sets that don't seem nearly as durable. My only issue with this buy is that it took 4 days to get to me, instead of the 2 as promised--but thats no reflection on this Irwin Screw Extractor kit. Overall. Excellent set with intended result.
