When the turbo compresses exhaust gas, its forced through a narrow downpipe on it's way through the exhaust system. This narrow pipe can create lots of turbulence. This air pressure needs to go somewhere, and the factory 2015+ Volkswagen GTI downpipe is a huge bottleneck, limiting flow and robbing power. Dont buy they could care less if ot fits or of you are happy
Im giving it a 3 star because its nice but useless to me as i have a aftermarket catback and instead of providing adapters like everyone else they welded a reducer on the 2nd part of the downpipe rendering it useless.I have to return it now bummed out.Update they confirmed they dont offer a 3 inch rear sectiom and could care less.Also i had to pay return shipping on this downpipe because of thier lack of fitment
