Beautiful brushes
Was so very pleased when I was offered these three brushes from the company, “Lightwish”. I had read many nice things about this Amazon seller, both about the products being sold, such as the Paul Ruben line of art supplies, and about the seller herself. But this was the first time Amazon Vine offered me one of her products. My previous experience with synthetic squirrel hair paint brushes ranges from Amazon Vine offerings from new, start up companies , to my own purchases from companies like Silver Black Velvet. I like them. I tend to like synthetic and natural blends a little better. And I tend to prefer natural sable brushes the most. There are a few exceptions to this general rule, though. The three large Lightwish synthetic squirrel brushes are all flats. They are packaged in a pretty black velvet drawstring bag, with an embossed picture of the statue of David, head and shoulders only, by Michelangelo in gold. Very pretty presentation! Lots of hardened gluey gunk on the brush hairs that require patience, warm water, and working it out by gently massaging the hairs. Even then, I’d wash them once again before using.I’m very happy to have these brushes; as I intend to start creating much larger works in water color.

Now I know what size a 50 brush is!
Im used to working with miniature brushes for 2.5x3.5in artist trading cards and up to 5x7in cards so these are monsters to me! LolI don’t really like synthetic brushes, there’s just a difference between real and man-made but these are pretty nice! Each came individually protected in their own sleeve and placed in a pouch. On one of the labels the company mentioned that these brushes are suggested for professional use and ages 14+ just to give an idea.I haven’t had any trouble with the brushes themselves. As for mini paintings and standard 5x7in card size paintings these work great. I’m sorry that at this time I can’t give feedback on how well they work on any larger size paintings where more controlled brush strokes are needed. :)

Gorgeous brushes
The media could not be loaded. This brush set is just beautiful. They hold so much water and watercolor, but are amazingly responsive so that whether you want a broad wash or the tiniest of fine lines, you can get them from the same brush. The video shows fine line work with the smallest brush in this set but I was able to paint these tiny spaces with a big barn brush sized humongous brush as well. They are just a delight to use. The assembly is neat and precise and is also aesthetically pleasing. These really are just beautiful and so much fun to use. I absolutely love them. I’ve already recommended them to several friends.

scraggly, not very absorbent, brush won't stay together
It's a shame the hair on these is such poor quality- they are decent quill brushes. Besides some shedding when I rinsed the sizing off (beware, they come literally GLUED at the ends- I have never ever seen so much sizing on a brush before, and I own a shameful amount of paintbrushes- it took about 20 minutes to gently rinse and wash the sizing out so I could even use the brushes...) they held up well to initial use. But the material of the brushes is VERY poor. Despite the brushes have generous full bristles, it just would not hold a lot of liquid, and as I used the brushes, the bristles splayed and would not stay together. Quill brushes should literally be like a mop (which is why they are sometimes nicknamed a mop) and the bulk of them should stay together when wet and move across the paper together. These bristles just stuck out in all directions no matter how wet the brush was.

My new work-horse brushes!
I love this kit of brushes but for personal reason. The kit comes from all the appropriate size for watercolors. I have costy brushes that I keep for specific paint of design that I want to do. But I always keep a set of brushes for an everyday use. These have become my main brushes for everyday. The bulky handle is amazing for soing large design and swirls. It give a nice control when doing large designs on a big canvas. The smaller 0 and 1 have a smaller handle giving a bit more dexterity when needed for smaller details. All in all, if you want everyday brushes that can take some abuse and give you a nice flow and control when working on medium to large canvas this is for you!

Well made with sturdy synthetic bristles.
These are the LIGHTWISH 3PCS Watercolour Flat Brushes, Paint Brushes kit for Artists, Adults, and hobbists, Pointed Round Mop Brush for Watercolour, Gouache,3Pcs. These are a three-piece set of synthetic bristle watercolor brushes. I got these because I am brand new to watercolor painting, I have many small watercolor paint brushes but I had none this large. I find that these large brushes will be fantastic for doing backgrounds on my Landscapes and covering large areas of my watercolor paper. These bristles for these brushes are synthetic and are low shed I actually haven't seen any bristles lost from these yet. The well is nickel-plated brass which will be corrosion resistant and will not rest over time. The brush handles are made of Birchwood and are very sturdy and it would be very hard to break one of these. So far it seems that the bristles are easy to load and hold a lot of paint making it easier to cover that large background on watercolor paper. To clean these brushes I would just use running clean water to preserve the bristles and prolong the life of the brushes. They come in a velvet pouch and seem to be very good quality brushes. I would definitely recommend these.

Disappointing. Did not hold water or give flat wash
Perhaps I got a bad set, but I did not have the same experience as most of the reviewers here. What I experienced instead was a brush that held less water than my dollar store brush. At first I thought it was because I didn't get all the sizing out. When I used the brush I did not get a flat wash. There were gaps because the bristles were clumping together. However after washing it properly with brush soap and letting it dry, I had the same experience again. And that was enough for me. Back to the dollar store brush for the same effect!
