At 3FT, it's stuns the fly, doesn't kill but gives plenty of time for a finishing blow. I test shot myself in the foot about 10 inches away and it stings! My shoulder kind of hurts, so when I pump the action, it creates discomfort since you need a good pull. The sights are pretty accurate around 3FT. Takes normal granular table salt, and when you shoot it looks like 10-15 individuals salts that come out, so you have plenty to shoot for each refill. The build is pretty nice and sturdy for a plastic gun. It's awesome, get one! I bought this salt gun having become fed up trying to swat multiple flies a day in the house. I couldn't be happier with the results! While I do actually use the sights to guarantee accuracy, you are not going to be killing flies across the room with it! It's ideal range seems to be about 2-3 feet from the target. Closer than that and you might blow the fly open and further away you're unlikely to land a fatal shot. But in that kill zone, the results are amazing! It consistently delivers a fatal dose of sodium to these cursed insects often perched on difficult to swat targets like the top of a bottle, the flowers on the table, or behind the mini blinds buzzing around the window. Dead, dead and dead! I just killed 3 back to back in 5 minutes before writing this review and I've been using it for weeks. Two were buzzing around the inside of a living room window behind the mini blinds and the last one was picked off as he sat perched on top of a Listerine bottle in the restroom. See for yourself, but money well spent and a great product!

It's so fun going outside to shoot down little critters in your backyard that bothers me: spiders, ants, spotted lantern flies, etc. You name it! Enough said, this little toy/bug exterminator will keep you entertained for hours.

Great for killing most bugs you will see in or around your home, without making a big mess, just be careful of your or other people's eyes because the salt will ricochet off surfaces, also I shot at some yellow jackets recently and it takes more than 1 shot, unless at point blank range to kill them.

I absolutely love my Bug-A-Salt! In the summer months I walk my house like a soldier just blasting away flies. You can make quick work of 20-30 flies with this thing in about 5-10 minutes. My only problem is it works too good and then I'm sad when I run out of flies to blast 🤣 If you're a gun lover and hate bugs invading your personal space I would grab this ASAP and I can almost guarantee that you'll keep it within arms reach when relaxing at home. I've had this for several months now and it still works as good as the day I bought it. Lightweight and easy to use. And since it only uses table salt and nothing else it's the cheapest insecticide you'll ever find.

This is the best money I have spent as an adult human. We leave our door open for our pets in nice weather, but that brings all of the flies in the tristate area into our home. It’s gross and traps are gross. This gun, however, is super fun. It uses normal table salt and is very easy to use, there’s even a scope. I’m giggling and sniping flies as a new pastime. My only problem is that it’s too effective and I’m bored now that I’ve killed them all.

The safety is much better on this model takes out gnats too.. don't try with wasps the just get mad..
