Though I had definitely heard of Perricone MD in beauty circles, this was my first time trying a product of theirs. Impressed is an understatement. I now understand the price tag. My skin tends to disagree with most retinol or retin-a formulations, but at 35 years old, I have been steadfast in learning about other options for anti aging. Enter, bakuchiol. I had recently tried a bakuchiol eye product, and to my surprise it did not cause issues. That being said, I jumped at the chance to try this Perricone MD Smoothing Restorative Serum. With Bakuchiol, Niacinamide, and Holy Basil this serum provides anti aging benefits, plumping lines and helping even skin tone and texture all while being truly moisturizing and strengthening your skin barrier. The formula is clean, hypoallergenic, and vegan. I love that there are no dyes or fragrance. It is unbelievably gentle, and that is not a statement I make lightly. My skin even takes issue with Niacinamide sometimes- but not with this product. This is truly expertly formulated, and it shows. I have combo skin, and can lean oily or dry depending on a million factors. This serum is lightweight, but still feels very nourishing going on and absorbs quickly. It dries down well, and layers nicely with my other skincare products. Zero pilling. Zero irritation. This is certainly earning it's spot in my nighttime skincare routine. I'm excited to keep using it for the anti aging benefits, as well as for correcting my skin tone and texture. I have a few problem areas I'm hoping this will help with more long term use. I can say that it does have a nice plumping effect and will leave your skin soft, hydrated, and brighter. I do not doubt that it will help with my areas of concern, either. It takes regular use of Bakuchiol to see results, and I'm just getting started. If you struggle with disagreeable skin like me, Perricone MD might just be worth looking into!

I like how it brightens my skin, but haven't noticed much smoothing effects. Might just take longer to see them. Didn't "restore" my barrier like I thought it would. However, I like that it is non-comedogenic so I can use it anytime without worrying it'll break me out or clog my pores. It is more like a light lotion texture. The absorbency was fast and it can easily be layered with other skincare products. No scent that I noticed. Good for hydrating and moisturing! Overall the quality was excellent, just want to see stronger faster results!! Thank you!

I looked into it, but the price was prohibitive, so I didn't inquire further. Fast forward to now - I was surprised to see a Perricone product available on Amazon and wondered if it was the real deal, but an internet search revealed that Perricone MD was acquired in 2020 by THG, a company specializing in taking name brands directly to consumers. I've been using this serum daily for about a month now, and have to say that all the hype I've heard around Perricone products over the years is for a reason. The serum has visibly improved the surface of my skin, creating a smoother, finer texture. The product is lightweight, not at all greasy, and easily absorbed into my mature skin, which tends toward dryness & redness. Although the serum is unscented, it's not scent-free – it has a slightly medicinal smell with just a hint of cucumber. That said, I don't find the aroma off-putting, and it dissipates quickly. So yes, this serum is expensive, and yes, it's a terrific skin care product from a line that has long promoted itself as being medical grade, gentle, plant based, and cruelty free.
