New - Great Material
The book arrived in perfect condition, unused as described. It contains all the relevant information necessary to study for and successfully pass the exam. I highly recommend this textbook to anyone preparing for the test. The writing style clear and easy to understand, enabling me to take accurate notes as a visual learner. Do not hesitate to purchase this resource to aid in successfully completing the Security+ exam. Best of luck to everyone on the same journey.

This is essential if you want to the Security+ exam.
If you're new to the cybersecurity world and want to be taken seriously by HR then one of the first certifications you should have on your resume is the Security+ certification by CompTIA. Mike Chapple is one of the few authors who's way of teaching the subject matter of cybersecurity (blue team/defense) approachable to a vast audience. In conjunction with this guide I would also encourage potential buyers to also purchase his study notes on Security+ ( In PDF format) on his website which you find by doing a quick Google search : certmike.com. Hope this helps!

HELPED me pass
5 stars because this is an absolutely amazing resource when studying for the exam. I used their A+ and Sec+ books to go from knowing almost nothing about what either certification covers, to passing all 3 exams on my 1st try for each one. That being said, I would not reccomend solely relying on this book. Comptia are crafty SOB's! This book and free online practice tests prepared me for every question except for the 3 practical questions I got.For my 3 practical questions I needed to know more about reading logs and the architecture, or design, of the relation of power and security infrastructure. I was able to work my way through those questions, but I firmly believe that was because of knowledge I gained outside of this study guide. Which I can't stress enough, is a fantastic resource. I will be going after Network+ next with their Network+ book.Speaking of, don't worry about buying the newest versions. I bought the newer Sec+ and Net+ versions. Haven't checked with Net+ yet, but there was like no differences between the old and new Sec+ books

Good Enough
My employer requires my position to possess a Security+ certificate. I am a programmer by nature, not an IT person. I bought this book, read it, and took 98 pages of notes. I then bought the companion practice exam book and glanced at the first 3 chapters of the exam book (I ran out of time and didn't get through it, my test was already scheduled). I took the test and passed with a 753. Ultimately, however good or bad this book is, it did the job for me. If you buy this book and seriously read it, you should be able to pass the test. Also, the practice exams are reasonably in the vein of the actual test (not exactly the same questions, but very similar).

Thorough and up to date
Great stuff. It’s structured well and has practice questions at the end of each chapter.

Book is what you'd expect
It's a study guide for the 701 sec+ exam. If that's what you need, it's perfect.

Book is great. Wiley is not.
The book has good information , but the online test bank that you can register online is through wiley.com. which has been very reliable so far. My passwords stop working and they say my email does not exist. Ive gotten into the testbank once and was logged out and once again my email does not exist. I would say get this just for the book and use quizlet for flash cards and quizes.
