Good Value For The Money - Information/Specifics:
No one has reviewed this and there are not many details in the limited description so I wanted to do this "review" to simply give people the facts of what they are actually buying. The description states "Made in the USA" which is false, at least partially, but most likely entirely. The deck had a "Made in China" sticker right on the side of it. My guess is at least the deck is made in China, but most likely is 100% made in China. The deck seems sturdy and has decent "pop". I do believe it to be "rock hard maple" and it is 7 ply. The grip tape covers the entire board, it is black and seems like your average grip tape. All 8 bolts are black and Phillips. I imagine they are Mini Logo brand. The trucks are solid black and are Mini Logo brand. The trucks doe have 1/8" risers. Mini Logo is owned by "SkateOne" which is the umbrella that Powell Peralta is under. Mini Logo is their "value brand". There is nothing wrong with Mini Logo branded items and many people skate them without issue. The wheels are white and have a black graphic. The say "Powell Peralta" on them, but don't mention the model. They have the picture of the Powell Peralta "Ripper" on them. The wheels are 53mm and 101a. I imagine these are Chinese made wheels and not wheels made by Powell Peralta in the USA. The Powell Peralta site lists a couple model of "Ripper" wheels, but they do not look like these. Powell Peralta does not sell a wheel in this size or this hardness/durometer. The bearings are Mini Logo brand. I popped out a bearing to find that there are no spacers in between the bearings. Spacers are not something you have to have, but should be included in a new complete. It's a minuscule complaint, but that is definitely a manufacture issue and has nothing to do with the seller. Overall for the price, I think it is a reasonable deal. This will be just fine for the friend I bought it for. My friend is 34 and does not know how to skate. I'm going to teach him and his kids how to ride a skateboard. I'd be surprised if this board sees 25 Hours of use so I couldn't see getting him to spend a ton of money on a board for himself. Plus, my friend is a cop and we both saw the humor in him owning this board. The graphic color is black, and not blue as listed in the title. You get exactly what is pictured. If you are looking for a no assembly required, ready to roll skateboard that is of decent quality but at an affordable cost, then this is a good option. This is not a mini, kid or cruiser board. This is a full size "popsicle" style skateboard that most everyone skates. The wheels are hard and not for high speeds on rough terrain. This is your average parking lot, driveway, skate park, let's learn technical tricks type skateboard.
