Husband wears them fishing and walking on land and loves them, saying they are very sturdy and easy to put on and take off. Give him peace of mind.

They are boxy. Need to break in the material. I live in the desert and it’s snake season. This is part of my work uniform now

I bought these for visiting a son who lives in Texas, since I am not concerned about venomous snakes in the state where I live. They fit comfortably and I think I would be fine with using them. We did not get a chance to walk in areas where wearing them would be more advisable though, and if we had, I think I would still feel better that they did not have to pass a test! Before leaving, I gave them to his friend, who had been looking for some, and she appreciated the gift.

They give you a sense of safety. Although you still have to be on the lookout for snakes, with the snake gaiters you feel safe. The fit great and adjusting them is easy.

EDIT ---After I wrote this review indicating that I replaced these with full chaps, seller reached out. I am very impressed with this excellent seller.As highly rated as these were, I replaced them with full chaps after finding out snakes in my area can whip up and strike you above the knee. They also did not work well for me because they did not stay facing forward despite the straps and fasteners (this could be because I wore thick tall rubber boots under them when I was out in snake areas). There is a plastic shield under the fabric covering, which is stiff and probably would stop a snake.

I have not come across a snake in my yard yet. But I figure they work for briars and poison ivy, too. Burrs don't stick to them. They're easy to put on and take off.

First time out with the gaiters yesterday. It's cold here so I wasn't worried about snakes but since I was bushwhacking I thought the gaitors would add a bit of protection from vegetation. To that end they worked but lets talk fit and weight. These are not lightweight and after walking 6-miles with them they got heavy. Took them off for the last mile home and bottom of my pants were soaked with sweat while the rest of me was not. I had these snugged but they constantly rotated inward so had to frequently stop and pull them straight. The arch strap while tight at the start, would loosen so again every so often we had to stop so I could cinch them tighter. The flap that goes over your ankle (or shoe laces) refused to lay flat. One side (inside the leg of both) would constantly fold under. Over all impression is I won't wear them again - they are heavy, didn't fit well, required constant adjustment.

I used them while clearing brushes and pulling weeds in AZ as a way to protect myself from snakes and getting cut by thorny brushes. For those purposes, they work really well. They don’t fit perfectly but provide good protection. They stay on the whole time .
