Sturdy replacement for OEM cover
Lost the OEM battery cover and this has been a good replacement. Seems to keep water out, but haven't tested at the listed depth. It's very sturdy and has held up well. Seems a worthwhile replacement for the original.

NOT WATER PROOF
Bought this for my GoPro, BARELY got wet but somehow water leaked into the battery compartment. MONEY WASTED

Sturdy piece, not sure about water proof rating
This is a high quality, sturdy cover for the GoPro Hero 8. The lock mechanism is easy to use and the fit is just right for the shape of the GoPro.I did not use it underwater to test its water proof rating since the description says 33ft and the video says 10ft, but I have the waterproof casing for that anyway.One downside I can think of is the price for a replacement accessory. I am not sure if I would buy this for the water proof feature, but it offers excellent protection for the parts inside.

Fits well, maintains water-tight seal
Fits as good as the OEM GoPro Hero8 battery door - Seems to maintain the water-tight seal just fine.It is expensive compared to other GoPro accessories, but parts for the Hero8 are generally harder to find and tend to cost more.I keep this as a spare since I have a track record of losing the original battery door.

Replacement battery door for my Hero8
When I first received my Hero 8 I put on a battery door that would allow me to connect a charging cable for long mountain bike rides. Fast forward and moving a few times I couldn't find my original battery door. When I went snorkeling recently that meant no Hero 8.This replacement battery door fits well. It doesn't protrude beyond the profile of the GoPro. It features a rubber gasket much like the original battery door did. It passed a water test in my sink so now my Hero 8 can go with me on my next snorkeling trip.
